Does anyone have a list of common gaming terms? I find myself wanting a FF13 item guide, but don't know how to say anything that I might use to search for it. It then occurred to me that a list of such terms could be quite useful to study as well.

nadiatims, I've actually already played the game right to the end, and find myself needing some help from a guide to finish it. So I'm looking at spending a LOT of time translating for just a little benefit, and I don't see it happening.

I've actually found a guide just by searching for 'ff13 日本語' (lucky!) but I thought it would be nice to have a list of such words in the future, and wondered if anyone had already created it.

I'm also not looking for specific words for specific, but rather looking for translations for things like 'strategy guide' and such. I don't have high hopes that someone has done it, but I thought I'd ask.

That site seems to have write-ups for most of the other stuff in the game as well. And not only for FF13, but most if not all the Final Fantasy games. Smile

Thanks! I actually found some great lists on http://ff12.jp/ (yeah, they changed to 13) but no translations. I actually probably have everything I need for FF13 at this point, but I was trying to future-proof myself. Smile

See, I'm really, really good at Googling in English. But in Japanese? Ugh. I just don't know the words yet. And while I'm getting a good basic vocabulary from my studies, I'm not getting much gaming or tech vocab. I'm sure that'll eventually change once I have the basic vocab, but... I was trying to speed things up a bit. Smile

I've actually seen a lot of those. I was more looking for terms like 'strategy guide' and such, so I can talk about games, and or search for what I need. It seems really odd, but the vocab to play games is almost completely different from the vocab needed to talk about playing games.

I don't know what other words I'd need, that's part of the problem.
