Is anyone afraid of taking the test itself? - Zgarbas - 2011-11-27 Ok, so I have this weird problem. I've never been good at taking any sorts of tests. At all. I'm just not good at sitting on a chair looking at a piece of paper and maintaining proper concentration, writing nicely, etc. This usually means that I get 8s when I know enough to score a 10. But it's ridiculous with Japanese. The first time I ever took a test in Japanese I got a headache just by looking at it, and it took an extraordinary amount of concentration to just keep focus on each line. I've been practicing my reading skills a lot, but the complete blow that I get when I face an all-kana test is just exhausting. And then there's the fact that (with breaks and all) it'll be quite a few hours of testing. It's just mindblowingly exhausting for some reason. Especially since the JLPT is quick-paced and there's the annoying answer sheet to fill. Does anyone else get this? How do you deal with it? (I don't get this when I'm facing Japanese books. Though surprisingly I do when I'm facing websites=/) Is anyone afraid of taking the test itself? - EratiK - 2011-11-27 You should try to simulate test-like conditions more often. Get your hands on an old subject, wake up early on a saturday morning, bath, shave, get dressed properly and try to "take the exam" at home, timing yourself up. By the 10th time you do this, the problem should vanish. |
