mp3 player that makes repeating sections easy - nwatkins - 2007-10-12 I am working with some audio in different forms: news, tv, music, etc...in mp3 format. Up until this point I have only been listening to the media in iTunes. Now I would like to start converting some of it and then looking things up. When the media is short, the iTunes progress bar doesn't allow very much granularity. I'd almost like to be able to bookmark sections in the mp3, but at the very least be able to easily playback certain parts. Any other players or tricks you know of? - noah mp3 player that makes repeating sections easy - Jarvik7 - 2007-10-12 Open it up in an audio editor and just highlight the section of the waveform you want to play. Pretty much any editor will do, but if you have a Mac you already have garageband. mp3 player that makes repeating sections easy - thegeezer3 - 2007-10-13 i know on the most mp3 players theres also the function to slow down the audio which is great if your having problems catching what they are saying. The function is built in for audiobook purposes but its also great for learning languages. Of course i try to listen in the native speed first but sometimes i just give up and slow it down a tad. Is there any software that will do this on the pc??? And is there a dvd decoder that will allow you to slow down the film and still hear the audio???? I find the sliders dont offer great granularity as well - any softs that have a gui similiar to an ipod wheel? may be better for fine precision. mp3 player that makes repeating sections easy - Megaqwerty - 2007-10-13 thegeezer3 Wrote:Is there any software that will do this on the pc???The latest version of Windows Media Player has a plug-in that will do this and you can find a plug-in for Winamp that will slow down songs. It might change pitch however: I haven't used them so I can't say for sure. I know DAP's designed for musicians have all these capacities built in and are fairly intuitive, but they cost a lot. mp3 player that makes repeating sections easy - Megaqwerty - 2007-10-14 wzafran Wrote:I use that feature all the time, especially when I'm transcribing difficult/blazing guitar solos.Ah, so you play guitar, eh? Have you uploaded any of your work online anywhere? I primarily use Audacity for slicing up audio, but it's nice to know that it doesn't mess with pitch either: I might be able to coax out a poor man's Melodyne with it then. |
