Best online monolingual Japanese dictionary? - jettyke - 2011-11-14 Sanseido? Goo? Best online monolingual Japanese dictionary? - blackbrich - 2011-11-14 Yahoo. Best online monolingual Japanese dictionary? - Bokusenou - 2011-11-14 Depends on what kind of dictionaries you like, and what you use them for. http://dic.yahoo.co.jp is good for most things, though I like http://kotobank.jp more recently, especially for specialized jargon-type stuff. http://www.weblio.jp is pretty good too though I haven't used it as much. Sanseido is good for quick definitions, though I find I remember the more detailed ones more. I mainly just use EPWING dictionaries now, so I don't know about any new sites that may have popped up, but hopefully something in this post might be helpful. ^-^ Best online monolingual Japanese dictionary? - Splatted - 2011-11-14 Sanseido is usually easier to understand and more concise. Yahoo gives more detailed descriptions, and I think I've found a few words in there that weren't in Sanseido. I usually try Sanseido first and if I still don't understand, or just want more detail, I check Yahoo. If that's not enough I just give up so I can't comment on any other dictionatries.
