Japanese Subtitles for Korean Drama? - mezbup - 2011-09-13

K well, since I'm learning Korean intensively at the moment I've been on the hunt for resources. I've found lots but with things like Sub2SRS we all know how valuable drama can be as a study tool. So I was wondering where I could get Jap subs for Kor shows that I may utilise my full study potential whilst attempting to master the Korean language (or at least be able to watch drama in it).

I had a look but I didn't turn up too much (didn't look super hard). I did find that if you buy the box-set for the Japanese domestic market it (of course) includes the Japanese subtitles. That's ok, I guess but I don't want to buy box-sets cos they are expensive but I may consider it as an option. Also getting the Korean subs I found that it's possible (for a small fee) to see the script of the show on the official website of the TV station which aired it. So... I'm thinking it's possible to get something working in this regard.

Anyways, I don't really plan on extensively using this method but just wanting to use it to pick up natural Korean phrases fast to give me a headstart. Kind of attempting to blitz through as fast as I can (dunno why I always seem to do that but I do).

I'm interested in several dramas... Hana yori Dango (kor version), Ikemendesune (Kor ver) and "Heartstrings".

EDIT: I found http://ja.viki.com/ which i'm surprised I've never heard of earlier. They actually have tonnes of drama with tonnes of subs in tonnes of languages. They have them for some of the shows I want too... problem is how can I extract them?? If anyone could help with that it would be awesome...

EDIT: they actually have the KOREAN subs for Hana Yori Dango... cool thing is you can view them at the same time as the Japanese subs... how have I not heard about this site til now??

...and is it possible to rip the subtitles to a file somehow?

for japanese subs. there's lots of threads with links to various sites. so.
and if you want to see both subs at same time then use kmplayer.

i know episode 1 of hanayori dango japanese subs in srt format is on d-addicts and the ones that is in .sub or idx is on that russian site.

I've flicked over to Fuji TV on occasion when using KeyholeTV to watch live Japanese TV, and once they were playing a subtitled Korean drama. If you sift through the TV guide and find out what time a show is on, you could watch it that way, I guess.

It's not really a good option if you want to repeatedly watch the show to relearn words you don't understand though, sorry!

yeah they air a lot of japanese subtitled korean dramas in japan apparently. like i read the article about the fuji tv protest and it mentioend that they aired 40 hrs of korean drama per week (a bit overkill ain't it?)

I found some site that uploaded a video of the japanese subbed koraen drama ... it was for itazura kiss and some other one.
i belive it was hosted on daily motion.

i googled for it in japanese. it was like itazura kiss douga nihon jimaku or something like that

so if you want you can search for it... for streaming videos that people uploaded.

like one i found is for this drama called paraddise ranch but idon't know if it's any good

OH WAIT I googled and found for itazura kiss:

and also i think you can find some other dramas on niconico.. like iremember my name is sam soon is on it.

but i personally have issues with japanese subs with the summarizing/leaving stuff out... the usual issue. soooo.
