Another question about the core.... - mastermx - 2011-08-10 Sorry guy's to post this I know there are loads of posts about the core 2000 + 6000. But it's just a quick question because It's been a couple of months since I was learning japanese. My question: Does the Core 6000 contain within it the core 2000? Or are they seperate? I say this because I did step one two and three of the core 2000, when I found the core 6000 I combined them all together into a mega anki pack... well should i continue to core 2000 step 4 or go to core 6000 step 2? Your help would be much appreciated. peace Another question about the core.... - paasan - 2011-08-10 Edit: I was under the impression that Core 2k is indeed included in Core 6k? Another question about the core.... - nest0r - 2011-08-10 They are separate, I believe. I have never encountered a Core 2000 sentence in Core 6000. Another question about the core.... - MacMiller - 2011-08-10 I believe Core 6k is 4000 words + Core 2k. In the shared Anki deck "Core 2000 and 6000" there are 5998 cards while in the public "Core 6k" deck there are only about 4000 cards. So, yes. 2k/6k are [most likely] separate decks. Everything is tagged in there, so it's quite convenient. At least that's what I've done so far. Another question about the core.... - mastermx - 2011-08-10 Are the core 2000 words more frequent than the core 6000 ones? If that's the case then I think I should continue to step 4 of the core 2000 finish the 2000, then continue to step 2 of the core 6000. Another question about the core.... - nest0r - 2011-08-10 They are more frequent according to a frequency list made from newspapers that is now somewhat dated, I believe; this results in some common words but I think many of them are not so common outside of newspapers or your personal experience. I think the greatest value of Core is the relatively simple sentences and the native audio. That doesn't mean there aren't a lot of very common words that use a lot of the kanji you learn in RTK though (I forget the exact numbers). I think people have been playing with different ways of arranging the Core stuff in various decks. If nothing else I know that you can use MorphMan (overture's Morphology plugin) to arrange the cards according to how many new words per sentence there are. If you're interested in frequency stuff, different lists have been posted around here, plus keep in mind you can generate your own lists and materials (see cb4960's subs2srs and frequency list generator here: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=7457) Another question about the core.... - mastermx - 2011-08-18 I wish some one would make a frequency list for most words used Iin rpgs and manga Another question about the core.... - Ginmanm - 2011-08-18 mastermx Wrote:I wish some one would make a frequency list for most words used Iin rpgs and mangasmart.fm had this Another question about the core.... - Kyoshi88 - 2011-08-19 The Core 10,000 has some Core 6,000 sentences but there's no overlap in Core 2000 and 6000. |
