Someone here has my email? A little concerned. - amoors - 2011-07-26 So I got an email from a "user" here which was somewhat odd. I went to check my settings on my profile (because that person said my profile was very interesting) and it said that my email address isn't visible to anyone. ...So how did that person get my email address? Why was I being contacted over an empty profile? I'm a tad bit confused and very suspicious of this email. What should I do? Thank you guys. Admin: No, no one has your email. Another dumbass scammer. A year ago or so it was "verababy" from Nigeria/Kenya IP location now it's "ramababy" from Senegal IP. The default setting is someone can send you a message through the forum, they can spam you, so to speak, through the forum (until they are banned), but they don't know your actual email address, until you reply, so dont reply. IP range ban has been put in place. Someone here has my email? A little concerned. - pudding cat - 2011-07-26 If you go to Profile -> Privacy you can see the different email display settings. You're currently on the "Hide your e-mail address but allow form e-mail." setting. I know this because I clicked on the Email button under your name on your post. No one has your address. A little concerned. - nest0r - 2011-07-26 Is your email something like amoors@x.com? Could just be a bot phishing or whathaveyou, then, by scanning the user list and trying combinations. Or perhaps you're a bot and this post is a phishing attempt! Oh no! ;p Someone here has my email?
