In order to improve my reviewing experience I have installed a few plugins and tweaked with the fonts a little bit, however I was wondering what other people do to customize their reviews.

YozFont is how I play the ComicSans brain hack in Japanese. Works on AnkiDroid Beta 0.7, too.

What is that font you are using @Es2Kay?

@rich_f comic sans brain hack? Something like... Poorly written things stick in memory better? I vaaaaguely remember something like that... Right? How's it working for you?

@Es2kay -- similar idea? I actually like your font/color choices. What font is that? I kinda wanna steal it.

As for me, my fonts are totally stock. Whatever anki came with as a default font is what I'm using. Kind of bland, but I never thought abot changing it until I came upon this thread.

Now I am thinking about switching back to the default as well, Arial in this PC. I like the kawaii fonts but I feel out of place if things are not as generic as possible.

@Asriel-- yeah, that thing. It's hard to say, because I am my own experimental group, and I don't have a control group handy. (Unless I could somehow create a duplicate of myself that was exact down to the subatomic level, including mental state and everything.) Big Grin

I do prefer the look of YozFont to the more standard stuff, especially butt-ugly Mincho, so on that level it works. But there's no way to know if I retain more information, or retain it better. GoGo placebo effect? Even that's good for something.

Maybe in the near future I'll change it to one of the Sumo fonts, to help learn how to read those signs for a while. Change is good.

I use the same font that the RtK books use. When I bought the RtK iPhone app, I noticed the font used in the app and the books were the same, so I opened the ipa file in WinRAR and extracted the font. It's called "Kyoukasho Handwritten." It's also the same font used at http://www.saiga-jp.com/kanji_dictionary.html, which is what my Japanese professor told me to refer to for writing kanji.

The fonts are EPSON 丸ゴシック体M and EPSON 教科書体M.

For RtK, I use IPA Mincho for the top part, and KanjiStrokeOrders for double-checking the stroke order.

Sure, IPA Mincho is not the most beautiful font, but the proportions within each character tend to be nice so it's good for learning to write.
