Is it possible to review more often? - Lazerbeat - 2011-06-17 Hey there, this is my first post so do be gentle! I have a kind of patchy knowledge of Kanji so decided to run through RTK1. I have gone through the first three lessons and love the way the site works. I would like to review my cards more often but none of my kanji have come up for review yet. Is there a way to do this on the site? Is it possible to review more often? - nest0r - 2011-06-17 This site uses a Leitner system to make use of the spacing effect to optimize memorization. There's no need to review more often; in the literature on spacing that's called overlearning, the reduction of which benefits your long-term retention of kanji/words/etc. In short, just review the cards when they come up and move on till they reappear, which is in part based on how you graded their ease or difficulty. It seems counter-intuitive, but you'll get used to it and fall in love with whoever made your studying a million times more efficient. Deleting flashcards does not affect stories. When you have 300-400 kanji and it becomes impractical to review them all everyday or even once a week, then let the SRS do its thing and focus on good stories that let you remember a kanji for several days or weeks. |
