Yeah it was sometimes really fun
along with a load of other emotions.I can't imagine it'll be finished any time soon... I'd have thought it'll go well into next year but I don't really know.

It's obviously good that everything's been cleaned up but I have mixed feelings when seeing these pics which show progress from floods and rubbish > empty plots. Cause the next stage, from empty plots > houses, shops, parks, etc is just as important but without the striking images of complete disaster it doesn't seem so bad or urgent. Will be much better when the now pictures show construction rather than emptiness.
By the way, the original blog It's Not Just Mud in the first post has grown into an NPO doing good projects to help with the recovery. The group's website and facebook page have lots of info https://www.facebook.com/ItsNotJustMud?sk=wall&filter=1

yeah, i've been following "it's not just mud", it's been really nice to watch it grow and progress into a professional organisation!!!
Yeah, there's still a lot to be done, for sure... does the next stage depend on insurance companies coughing up and construction firms moving in?
Still, it amazed me just how much work had got done in just 1 year, given the size and scale of the disaster. When you compare it to, e.g. where Haiti was 1 year on, it's really quite eye opening. I wasn't expecting to see quite so much progress as that, i guess. Definately worth congratulating!!!
