Good Anki deck for Mandarin? - Larrikin - 2011-06-06
Im trying to setup Anki for my younger brother. I use Anki for Japanese and know all about the different resources out there. However, looking through the shared decks I don't really see any that stand out for Mandarin like the Japanese ones. I was hoping for a smart.fm like deck with the top 2000 words or something like that. Most of the decks seem to focus on the individual characters or seem to be sentence decks and not a general vocab deck like what I use for Japanese. Is the study of Chinese that different or am I just overlooking a good deck? I took Mandarin for a semester and didn't really use any different methods that I didn't use for Japanese, so i'm a little confused. Can anyone offer any advice on a good simple deck for a 9th grade student to use?
Reecommended plugins would be great too.

Probably the HSK deck is a good start. I haven't used it myself though.
