It's a shame international shipping costs so darn much. Book off sells Hardcover Copies of HPPS for 100 yen each.

The Japanese translation is quite close to the English. You certainly should be able to figure out which sentence is which.

sheetz Wrote:Woohoo! The second volume was uploaded yesterday so I didn't know about it. Thanks for the heads up! I don't know where to download the books, but you can get them both from Yesasia.com for like US$25 altogether.
I've been trying to find the audio book for book 3 on amazon.co.jp and yesasia.com for awhile with no luck. Do you know if they're still on there? Not sure why I'm having so much trouble finding it.

harry potter - sheetz - 2007-10-13

I think only the first two HP books were made into Japanese audio books.

Funny. I just found the same things on Share. Now I just need to finish Heisig and learn enough Japanese to make my way through the books. Tongue
What's Share?
'cause I'd love to have Japanese audiobooks for Harry potter(or any book really...)
I looked up demonoid, but I can't get on to the page even...

harry potter - fingerscrossed - 2007-10-13

O, hmmm. I think I found book five used on amazon. Either way,do you happen to have the link for the first two on yesasia?

harry potter - fingerscrossed - 2007-10-13

O never mind you were right. For some reason I though this was book five:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/4915512509/ref=olp_product_details/503-1224231-9891914?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=

but now I see that it's the first one. That would be a shame though if they only made the first two - I bought the third book without even thinking there may not be an audio book for it.

harry potter - jbudding - 2007-10-15

Can somebody please invite me to join Demonoid? I would really love to get the Harry Potter audio as I already have the printed books. I think Harry P. is a great story for learning foreign languages even though it does have a lot of weird words. I have the Spanish, Dutch and German audio versions along with the books and it has been a great help in my language studies. I listen to the audio with or without reading the printed text and it is a lot of fun. (I also tried Lord of the Rings but it is a lot harder.)

Also, I have some graded readers from White Rabbit press which are actually more my level but the Harry P would be a lot more fun.

harry potter - tom3injapan - 2009-09-19

Has anyone found a site where the transcripts can be dowloaded?

harry potter - yukamina - 2009-09-19

It's weird when you're reading a new interesting thread, come across a post made by yourself and realize it's actually a really old thread. I guess I'm just used to repeat threads.

CharleyGarrett Wrote:OK, so then I come across a sentence that I might want to keep for SRS. An example that I chose was Dumbledore saying that he'd trust Hagrid with his life. That seemed like an interesting phrase to me. So, then I type it into the document window.

Next I cut and paste it into Word. Using Word's "format/asian text/pronunciation guide" Word will supply the furigana for me, which I can print or cut and paste. So, I have one copy without furigana (the question), and one copy with furigana (the answer). Then, if I need it, I may have a J-J dictionary explanation of some word or another, amplifying the answer. I usually get those online at http://www.sanseido.net.
For kanji I don't know the reading of, I like to use the MS IME's pad thing to draw in the kanji, I find that faster than radical lookup. As for furigana, I use Anki's autogenerated furigana and edit it where necessary.

The funniest part is when you see a comment that you agree
with 100% and then suddenly realize you wrote that comment. :-)

Funnier when you see a comment you think is absolute bullshit and then...

harry potter - Nii87 - 2009-09-20

Too bad demonoid has been down for days. Google cache is the only way!

harry potter - hotkiller123 - 2009-09-20

You can find the audio book on thepiratebay.org, you don't need to sign up plus demonoid's down right now.
