Ok. My computer died, and anki was there. I have another computer, also with anki (same deck) but haven't used it in the past 1.5 months. In short, it has 3000 reviews. Whereas in the recently dead computer I must have less than 1000 (it died 4 days ago and I bought it just 1.5 months ago).

I don't mind doing so many reviews, problem is In the computer I'm using now anki reviews are all in the same pattern, for older cards the time is always 5.1 or 5.3 months. Is there any way to change this. I don't want to have that many reviews when that time comes. Otherwise I think I'll start deleting these easier cards and when I'm finished with the reviews I'll add new cards.

Or is there any other solution?

Many thanks.

Don't you sync your Anki with Ankionline? That's what it's there for!

I would bet you can recover what's on your hard drive of the recently expired computer. Just take it back to where you bought it from and explain that you need the contents of the hard drive copied to a new one (which you should be entitled to under the warranty).

If you synced your deck with Anki online then just push sync in Anki on your working computer and you're good. If you didn't just get some IT guy (its easy if you're a girl Wink) to look at your broken one to see if the disk is ok and if so tell him to recover your Anki deck (+ other important stuff you probably have).

Good luck.

The computer actually was sent back to sony. It will arrive in like one month and I doubt they won't erase the stuff I had there.

I never really understood anki sync, my anki alwys syncs but I don't really know how to use that feature *facepalm

If it always syncs, then why not log on with your working computer, sync up and have the updated deck and go from there?

I guess that's what thurd already suggested, now that I actually read his response...

If it doesn't work for some reason, you can go to http://ankiweb.net/ and login and do your reviews from there while you figure something out.
