Hi, is there currently a way to get Amazon.jp books sent outside their shipping zone? I had heard in the past of companies that do this, but I was wondering what's recommended these days. (I have used YesAsia before but they don't have the books I want this time).

I just used Danke Danke for the first time a few weeks ago, and it's very expensive.
So expensive in fact that I doubt I'll ever use it again, I had 1 book and 2 maps, and that cost 60 USD for them to ship it to me.

Amazon.jp ship overseas. This is the overseas postage rates, and it is even in English...

I was only looking at this this afternoon. I want to order 5 or so JLPT N1 books, and it is cheaper to do it directly through amazon than via a company that onsends it. Those companies use EMS (Japan's registered, express overseas mail service). I used it last year when I lived there and it is not cheap.
Edit: I see you live in the UK, so you are going to get slogged with the higher amazon postage rate than me (Australia) and you will be paying in pounds, so the exchange rate could work against you.

Unless you're buying through a seller on Amazon, and Amazon's shipping rates are awful at any rate.

There was a discussion about this the other day, if you choose Sea Mail on bk1 it's about half as expensive, but will take a month or so to ship, I suppose this is something to consider.

Of course, just using it once doesn't give one a large sample size to judge their service by, but it worked and wasn't too outrageous on price so I will personally be using them again if that's any comfort.
As a side note, I'm very envious of the same day shipping in Japan...
