The best software to mimic - mfpole - 2011-04-08

This semester in an electronic music class I take, my teacher recommended to download this program called Mixxx, a free DJ program.

http://www.mixxx.org/

What I figured out later is that this program is also awesome for listening to a clip that you would like to mimic, as it has an easy to use on the go loop feature. This is handy for practicing a smaller part of the file, let's say one line of dialogue because you can repeat with it until you are satisfied. There are also hotcues that you can put at different places in the file that you would automatically like to go to. This means if you want to listen and repeat an audiofile from a textbook or something, with a button press you could skip the annoying intro everytime, or with another skip ahead to the second conversation on the same file.

There's also a tempo changer (changes pitch too) on the side, but I've never played around with that for audiofiles.

Also if you get bored, you can throw down a beat and play DJ with those annoying Genki voices..

What do people think? Am I spouting old news here?
