Bonus grammar points - Javizy - 2011-04-05 I thought it might be good to have a thread where we can share sentence patterns that don't appear in AD〇JG or the JLPT syllabus. I meant to do it a while ago, so I've probably forgotten a few already, but I was reminded of it when somebody mentioned するしないを超える in another thread. It'd be good if we could hash up a list and make a deck out of it or something. Anyway, here's a couple I've noticed. 彼はいつも具合いが悪いのなんのと理由をつけて、残業したためしがない。 ~たためしがない someone never does something Common expression that can be used in conversation. 彼の言ったことは彼女がばかだと言っているのも同然だ。 ~のも同然だ not far short of, basically the same as etc Also seems to be used quite widely. ダッシュして足をひねって怪我でもしたら全く意味がありません。 ~(マス形・する動詞+)でもしたら Hypothetical used when something will lead to an unfavourable result (I think this is on JPod somewhere). Seems to be used a lot with 意味が無い. |
