Weird IME problem - can't write 鼻血 or ぢ character - aphasiac - 2011-04-02 Hi peeps, I'm having a weird problem - i can't write 鼻血 (nosebleed) using Windows or MacOS Japanese IME. Reading is officially はなぢ (but i don't know how to produce the ぢ character), or はなじ (doesn't work). Very strange issue, can anyone help? Why is there a ぢ in the spelling of 鼻血? ぢ is pronounced じ, so any reason it's still used? Is the sound slightly different?? EDIT: Just realised the reason why is explained clearly on wikipedia, using 'nosebleed' as an example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiragana#Spelling_rules Cool, learn something new every day
