Volunteering in the wake of the earthquake - mikedough2 - 2011-03-25 Has anyone found a way to get involved in a volunteer effort to help Japan in domestically or overseas? I've left Japan temporarily but I'll be going back next month. I donated some canned food/potatoes and stuff to a local shelter in my community for Fukushima refugees before I left. In Yamagata Prefecture many of the JET ALTs got together and had a massive canned/dry food drive. I was wondering if anyone else has found ways to help out. I signed up to wwoof japan (before the quake even struck), and I think that you can find some local farms or communities that are rebuilding and could use a hand there. Anybody else has any ideas?
