Is this vocab list useful? - Angeldust - 2011-03-15 I know a lot of people on here aren't religious, but I am. lol And I was wondering if this keyword list for the Bible would be of any use: http://www.omf.org/omf/japan/ministry/japanese_language_center/japanese_language_resources/books_of_the_bible_vocabulary_lists Are any of them words that would be used in everyday life? Would they be worth SRSing or not? (Reading the Bible in 日本語 is not my main goal, but I definitely want to be able to read it in 日本語 someday.) Thanks! Is this vocab list useful? - ta12121 - 2011-03-15 a lot of the vocab are pretty common. I remember someone saying that, no matter what you read. There will be always common vocab and special vocab. Usual 90%(regular vocab) to 10%(special vocab) Is this vocab list useful? - bizarrojosh - 2011-03-15 I just took a look at some of those PDFs and most of the words on there are great for being useful in everyday life. Obviously words like Levite レビ人 will probably never be used in daily life unless you are at your church or at some kind of meeting or whatever. So if this is the kind of material that gets you off go for it. some of my christian friends read their bible nearly every day so if you do the same thing you would be killing two birds with one stone. Pretty good if you ask me. Is this vocab list useful? - Angeldust - 2011-03-16 Thank you so much for checking that for me! I will go ahead and start adding them to Anki. ta12121: I've read that somewhere too. Maybe a comment on AJATT? bizarrojosh: Yeah I read mine almost everyday too. So definitely worth it! Again, thank you! Is this vocab list useful? - nest0r - 2011-03-16 If you've knowledge of text stuff like comparing lists, you could grab those vocabulary lists and compare them to a frequency list, such as those from WWWJDIC's site (see the cbJisho thread for related topics). |
