How long are the flowers? - BoulderEric - 2011-03-14 I'm having trouble remembering when the primitive on top extends over the primitive on the left, and when it does not. This seems to happen a lot with the flower primitive, as in 薄and 落, versus when it does not, as in 搭 and 穫. Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Thank you. How long are the flowers? - NoSleepTilFluent - 2011-03-14 Just to somehow work it into your story if it's giving you trouble. Other than that After enough review things start to make sense it's harder in the beginning but gets a lot easier to have a feel for how Kanji is suppose to be set up later on. How long are the flowers? - Katsuo - 2011-03-15 Two possible solutions: 1. Make the side which includes "flower" into a new primitive. E.g. for 塔 and 搭 I call the right side "daisy chain" (you make a daisy chain by fitting flowers together). Then the kanji stories become pagoda = soil + daisy chain board = finger + daisy chain OR 2. The "short flower" is less common. Choose a particular type of flower (maybe one with a short stem) and work it into those stories. How long are the flowers? - EratiK - 2011-03-15 I did something like Katsuo (which is recommended in some story) to make the "flower that extends over with water below on the left" into a new primitive (allows you to remember 3 or 5 kanji). You can make it a swamp plant or a carnivorous plant, or a rare kind of plant you associate with moist (I made mine plant 42). http://residentevil.wikia.com/PLANT_42 |
