No one felt a thing in Hiroshima. Apparantly tokyo has been long overdue for a big quake though. No one felt a thing in Hiroshima. My Japanese friend told me this is not that expected earthquake. That one is expected in Tokyo itself. Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - Evil_Dragon - 2011-03-11 I hope you guys are safe Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - nest0r - 2011-03-11 Hopefully no one here needs to use it, but: Google activates Person Finder for Japan quake, tsunami Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - Jarvik7 - 2011-03-11 It's kind of surreal hearing about how bad it is up north, when it was so tame here in Aichi. Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - Nagareboshi - 2011-03-11 Terrible what's happening there ... saw it on NHK world when i got up. I hope you guys over there stay safe. What's worse the news came a fire broke out in a nuclear plant - http://www.finanznachrichten.de/nachrichten-2011-03/19612128-fire-at-tohoku-elec-onagawa-nuclear-plant-kyodo-020.htm I hope nothing bad is coming out of it - the least Japan, or that particular region could need now, is another catastrophe. Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - Cranks - 2011-03-11 Just got the news now. Everyone I know is safe. There was one guy that I was really worried about, but he's apparently ok. I'm glad the aftershocks are over now. Some of them were pretty scary. I guess I am so thankful that I was sick today. I could have been on the train/bus or at work. I hope everyone you all know is ok too. There's quite a few, it seems, that have friends and family in trouble areas and I, really, hope things turn out well! Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - Thora - 2011-03-11 Guys, I hope you'll be feeling okay during the aftermath if your city was affected. I think the disruption to the system and sense of vulnerability can be more unsettling than people might expect. Take care of yourselves. Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - doghands - 2011-03-11 had a little earthquake here on the big island, but not as bad as Japan. Please take care Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - SendaiDan - 2011-03-11 I studied in Sendai last year (hence the username) and have a lot of friends both Japanese and non-Japanese there. I can't seem to get much information on what is happening there, but the images on TV of Miyagi-ken being swamped by the tsunami are just terrifying. I flew in and out of Japan via Sendai Airport and seeing it surrounded with water is just mindblowing. All I can do is hope that my friends in Sendai have kept themselves safe throughout this whole thing until I can get in touch with them somehow. Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - thecite - 2011-03-11 Our thoughts are with everyone affected, Miyagi and Fukushima are looking pretty bad. Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - activeaero - 2011-03-11 Quake hit while I was in class and I happened to be screwing around with my phone at the time so I got some video. The vid only has a few seconds of the first and largest quake as we dive to the ground, and then cuts to us on the ground again as the aftershocks started rolling through. Of course they are STILL basically rolling through on a continuous basis as I type this. Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - Nagareboshi - 2011-03-11 Seems like there is something bad going on in Fukushima nuclear power plant - the IAEA said the authorities have set the alarm status higher and the region is being evacuated. I really hope that there is no fallout on the way ... scary news! Earthquake in Japan March 11th 2011 - ファブリス - 2011-03-11 There was noticeable activity "near/off the east coast of Japan" in late February and a lot in the recent days so I was a bit shocked and sad seeing this happen this morning.
