Slowing down Japanese audio ! - ファブリス - 2007-08-28 I wonder if anybody experimented with this? I am talking about some of the neat plugins you can get for the WinAmp mp3 player, which play back any audio at a slower or faster rate, while keeping the same pitch. Slowing down Japanese audio ! - Megaqwerty - 2007-08-28 I knew a guitarist who would use something similar to slow down songs so that he could pick out the individual notes, but I never thought about actually looking for it, so, rest assured: the damn thing does exist. In the mean time, you could just slow it down with some audio editor, but that's too much of a hassle. It's a pretty good idea: I'm surprised I never thought of it. My own listening "skills" are fairly nonexistent (but then again, this applies to my own language: I can barely understand British movies). Slowing down Japanese audio ! - tomhogers - 2007-08-28 Hi All, Take a look at "Best Practice", a FREE music slow-down program available from: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=180308&package_id=208475&release_id=514960 This works OK with fast-spoken Japanese. Enjoy, Tom Slowing down Japanese audio ! - dilandau23 - 2007-08-28 For windows users who don't hate the man (understandable if you do), there is a "Play Speed Settings" interface available out of the box for Windows Media Player. Just click "Show Enhancements" under "View" menu and then select "Play Speed Settings" below and you should see it at the bottom of the screen. It even keeps pitch constant. I use it in my Business English classes all the time. There are many such plugins on the WinAmp site. All you have to do is drag a slider between -100% and +100% speed on one I tried. Great tips guys! Will try the Media Player, would rock if it works with streamed content. Slowing down Japanese audio ! - kanjapan - 2007-08-29 In Japan 速聴 (sokuchou= speed listening) has been quite popular for quite some time as a method for improving mental capabilities. You can buy all kinds of CD`s and devices for it that all contain or can produce speeded up speech. Personally I didn`t like it very much because I need to concentrate real hard to understand what is said. Slowing down Japanese audio ! - ファブリス - 2007-08-29 Talk about it! You remind me there was actually a DS game like this, playing back audio, although at a higher pitch. Was pretty funny. Slowing down Japanese audio ! - kanjapan - 2007-08-30 Yes, actually I just found two: あらすじで鍛える*早耳のススメ DS* (arasuji de kitaeru * hayamimi no susume DS*) and 耳で右脳を鍛える DS聴脳力 (mimi de unou wo kitaeru DS chounouryoku) Slowing down Japanese audio ! - thegeezer3 - 2007-08-30 i just realised my iaudio7 mp3 player has this option built in so ive been slopplaying a lot of rip slyme stuff to see how they rap the lyrics. I realised through this that though there are the written lyrics they rap them in a very different way i.e. theyll split words into two and stitch the end of one word to the begining of the next word and rap like that. At first i was questioning the lyrics infront of me but then it all fell into place. Definately cool thing to have for music. |
