Video Tweak - Cranks - 2011-03-03 To hide subtitles in a video where the subs are close to the bottom of the screen (English, Japanese or whatever): 1) Open the video in VLC media player; 2) Click "view advanced controls" in tools; 3) Click "show extended controls" on the bottom panel; 4) Click "video effects" then "crop"; 5) Set the "bottom" value until you can't see the subs or just the top of. What this means is that hard subbed English media can effectively become non-subbed material with a slight loss of video viewing area. Additionally, you can set it to loop a section using these controls or record sections directly from the video. Quite nifty really. Video Tweak - Ryuujin27 - 2011-03-03 Genius. I think I've gotten rid of all my media with hardsubs, but if I ever am forced to have such a horrid file again, I'll be sure to use this trick. Video Tweak - jettyke - 2011-03-03 I've been using this same thing, but I found one better effect, activate " waves" or was it "mirror" or "water" effect? But anyway, it cuts down right at the right part and you don't have to enter any numbers, so it's faster. It was becoming a pain entering those digits every single time. Video Tweak - Tykkylumi - 2011-03-03 That's very handy, I remember back in the day I tried sticking a piece of paper over my screen. Needless to say that just got annoying... Video Tweak - Cranks - 2011-03-03 Lol, Tykkylumi. I tried that too. Video Tweak - Dustin_Calgary - 2011-03-03 Am I the only one that just went out of fullscreen mode, and just lowered the bottom of the video to be offscreen? :p Then I can keep up with anyone messaging me etc. at the same time without having to get out of fullscreen etc. and easier for starting new episodes
Video Tweak - Cranks - 2011-03-04 Lol, you know I once had my screen set so some of it was off screen (it was quite an old monitor and I don't think modern monitors will let this happen.) |
