Dumpster diving for Japanese books :-) - chamcham - 2011-02-04 Well it's not exactly dumpster diving (more like pre-dumpster diving). I live near a major city in the US with a decent japanese population. I've been taking music lessons in japanese recently. My teacher lives in an area where there is a fairly large Japanese population. Turns out that the entrance of her apartment building has an area where people place old books (that will probably be picked up and thrown in the trash at some point). Most books are in English. But, I was surprised when I noticed that a fair amount of them are in Japanese. So every week I pick up any Japanese novels that I find in the pile. Most books are in excellent condition. Seems like a great way to build up a collection of Japanese novels without spending any money...... :-) Dumpster diving for Japanese books :-) - nest0r - 2011-02-04 I live in that building! We leave those books for a charity organization that comes by each week, you jerk. All of those poor Japanese kids were wondering why there were no Japanese novels.
