Hi guys?
I use anki, and set it up so that Actions->Lookup->Daijirin is a entry to automatically search dictionary for my card via:
mkdaijirin://jp.monokakido.DAIJIRIN/search?text={0}&srcname=Anki&src=anki://
It doesnt actually work for some reason and always searches the word "art".
Any ideas?
but... more importantly... Can anyone teach me how to use Daijirin? Its kind of difficult and I dont know how to use it. Can the text be switched to left-right instead of top bottom?

I'm not sure how to use the app since i don't have an iphone/ipod touch...The app does look confusing to use to me, but maybe watching other people use it in videos like this would help?

{0} is whatever is on your clipboard. If you want to look up a field in the card, you need to add the link to the Card Layout and replace {0} with the appropriate field, e.g. {{Expression}}.

As for Daijirin, you can basically ignore the index screen; it's not very useful. To search, tap search at the bottom and type in terms. Tap button in top left to switch search modes. Text is read top through bottom, and the lines read from right to left. Thus flick towards the left to reveal additional search results/text. And that's about it.
If you're in a dictionary entry, you can also mark text by dragging over it. Release and Daijirin will jump to an entry matching the marked text, if it exists. If you hold instead, you can copy to clipboard.

Well, you can use the index screen just for fun. It is like browsing through a paper dictionary. Check out the すべて screen - it is like all Japanese words laid out on a giant sheet... For me,

works fine if I copied the entry before.
Now I am trying to decipher the introductory notes in 凡例 to learn more about it (bought the app just last week...)
