I know, I know... the majority don't give a damn about such stuff. Fortunately it is not for the majority, but for the happy few...

To the contrary, your efforts are much appreciated. It is just that many of us are beginners and that such materials will be useful only later. Just curious: how many years have you been doing this? Can you understand these recordings?

No (rising-falling intonation), I've no idea about Japanese, for me it is just Chinese in disguise, or to put it in plain English: Japanese is Greek to me, nothing more than double Dutch.
The only Japanese word I know is 自我 - my sister kindly explained in a letter to me that it is the philosophical 'I' in Japanese. Double me or something: Double, double, toil and trouble.

Ha! Then thanks for your selfless efforts anyways. I'll tackle double Dutch sometime later, after I get more comfortable wih disguised chinese...

To get more comfortable you'd first have to have some prophetic dreams.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry あのときの王子くん Le petit prince

Text: Japanese - spaced hiragana - French with links to two audio versions.
The text is in 3 columns, there is a column with spaced hiragana in
the middle, it should make it easier to read the original Japanese
text that it written with hardly any kanji (because it is an edition
for children who don't know many kanji) and that makes it more
difficult to read for the beginner in Japanese. The conversion to
spaced hiragana was done automatically so there are some mistakes
there, but it is nonetheless useful for the beginner.

There is a parallel J-English text there too, prepared by Sheetz.
