2011 JLPT study thread - astendra - 2012-03-06 Hey, I didn't get no congratulations. And I passed N1 within 2 years of study, excluding RTK. lol.

I think it's mainly consistent and deliberate work, not necessarily exact methods or even being in Japan. Great job to all of you who took the test! And keep on being awesome!
2011 JLPT study thread - franciscobc84 - 2012-03-08 As expected, I didn't pass N4 (shameful). Language knowledge: 44/120 Listening: 37/60 Total Score: 81/180 (so 9 more points and I would've passed). But doing the N4 was a very important catalyst for my studies. It was a much needed wake up call. Since then I've completely changed my approach and the results are slowly showing up. At the end of the year I'm going for N3 and I'll make sure I'll pass it. 2011 JLPT study thread - prink - 2012-03-09 I passed N4. I probably should have gone for N3, but I took N5 in the previous year and would rather just do them in order. One thing that was really annoying is that during the listening section, people were giggling and making noises. Otherwise, I think I would have probably done a lot better on the listening portion. Language Knowledge: 112/120 Listening: 34/60 Total: 146/180 As I cross over into N3 territory, I'm a little more worried. I knew N5 would be easy, and I wasn't too worried about N4 either. Something about N3 seems intimidating though, and I don't like it one bit. 2011 JLPT study thread - zigmonty - 2012-03-10 prink Wrote:As I cross over into N3 territory, I'm a little more worried. N5 is pretty basic, and N4 rounds out the beginner level. N3 is where the sheer amount of vocab etc you have to know starts getting noticeable imho. N2 is really just more of the same (as is N1 imho, although i'm not there yet). It takes time to learn all the vocab and grammar required, etc but by that point you're in a groove and pretty used to that sort of thing. Mind you, i might be saying that because when i was passing through the N3 level (mid 2010), what N3 was exactly was still extremely ill-defined (as there hadn't been a test yet) and a lot of people were being pretty conservative about what you needed to know. Maybe it's now considered easier than i'm remembering it being (i never actually sat the test as i was targeting N2). 2011 JLPT study thread - Zgarbas - 2012-03-13 Passed N4. Expected, but still not the confidence boost I'd have wished =(. One thing I don't get, though... Language knowledge: 80/120 Listening 40/60 Overall 120/180 Vocab A, Grammar B, Reading A But, on the top table(which gives the score according to n3+ level), I have Language knowledge(vocab/grammar) 50/60 and Reading 30/60 How does that make sense? Aaaanyway. N2 here I come! |
