Forcing myself to take a break - deign - 2010-09-22

Hello all,

I have been strongly studying japanese since last january. I finished RTK1 in March and now doing the sorted Core6k deck from Nukemarine, I'm arround 2000 sentences.

Since the beginning, I have never taken a break, even of 1 day. I add cards from monday to friday, and only review the week end. This works good for me and I will really enjoy learning japanese this way.

Anyway I know that in some disciplines, the human body needs to take a break in order to digest the information and release the pressure. It can improve your long-term performance.

Do you think I should force myself to take a break? Actually for me, japanese learning is really a pleasure and I don't look forward at all the moment when I will stop.

No.

Just mix it up. Take a break from one aspect of Japanese by going to a different aspect of it. Keep up on reviews.

Only really take a break if you feel you're going to burn out. I study every day too and know it can be stressful sometimes but I've come to think of studying Japanese as being similar to eating and using the bathroom... they are just things you have to do every day.

If you are going to take a break, make sure you keep up all of your reviews Smile
