transport streams (raw japanese subtitles) for airing shows - hotsw4p - 2010-09-16 edit: so this isn't just raw japanese subtitles, it's the entire raw japanese television shows that they are supplying. This includes the japanese subtitles. http://transportstreams.org/ i'm not sure if this had been mentioned already here. I did a quick search prior to posting this though, and didn't come up with anything for the url. anyway, hope that is helpful for someone. here is a project people are working to provide cleaned up japanese subtitle files to go along with 日本人の知らない日本語, in case you just wanted to watch that show in a more compressed format. http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_87087.htm happy studying transport streams (raw japanese subtitles) for airing shows - jcdietz03 - 2010-09-16 Transport stream (TS) is not very compressed. Transport streams weigh in between 1.7 and 2.1GB for 30 minutes (ads included, of course, which I think is the best part). Some raw release groups will demux the subtitle for you so you don't have to download the whole thing. I haven't found a video player that will decode TS subtitles. Use Caption2ASS to demux, retime using Aegis (most compressed releases exclude commercials which won't be accounted for in the raw output), and then use with your favorite player that supports external subtitles. I did the whole thing for Nyan Koi! (download, demux, and retime for all 12 eps) and you can find my subtitles on kitsunekko. I was thinking about doing Bleach 287 next. Please note that not all TS have subtitles. I'm not familiar enough with them to know which production companies and which TV channels usually have them and which don't. I was looking for Ookami-san subtitles, so if you know of any, please share. transport streams (raw japanese subtitles) for airing shows - hotsw4p - 2010-09-17 thanks for the extra info, it is really helpful.
