Where can I find/buy? - chochajin - 2010-09-11

Hello!

This page is from a jr. high 国語 textbook. I really enjoyed doing these type of exercises, so I was wondering if anybody knows where I could possibly buy books like that?
Or do you know of any resources online?

Of course I've also done my sentence decks reversed (as production deck) - at least then, I already know the meaning of the sentence/words and it's easier.
The problem I had with the book was, that I often didn't know what they were talking about.

Thanks in advance! Big Grin

Daiso, the 100 yen shop, have childrens kanji books that have that sort
of question in. The books are called 'Kanji training' (there are other
kanji books.) There are 3 books for the first 3 years of school. Though
the order they learn them in means the books aren't as easy as that sounds... Smile

If you're in Japan, then any bookstore. I really like these books too, have been doing them from 小学校一年生 level, they're only about 600 en.

In 100yen stores they only have them up to elementary school 6th graders, at least that's what I saw so far.

@robinowen: To make it a bit easier, in what section can I find them? I wanna aim for 中学生 books for now Big Grin

I'd suggest using the 漢字学習ステップ books for this, which are official prep books for the kanji kentei and are rather well done. 10級-5級 correspond to grades 1-6 respectively, and 4級 and beyond are for higher levels. If you want middle school level, 4級 might be a good place to start, but you might find that 5級 is challenging enough.

Not really sure with all the school books I think, I'll have a look in the bookshop near me in a bit to check.

The picture you posted looks lower than Junior High mind, maybe about 3rd grade elem. The only problem with these books is that for a foreigner (me anyway) the vocab is way harder than the kanji.

Thanks guys Smile
Yah, I think the 漢検 books might be the way to go. I'll look for them in my local bookstore next time I go there ^-^

Yep, I had a look today and the books in the 中学 section were mostly longer reading passages, but the book for the 漢検 have the style of questions you wanted, those were next to the TOIEC and 英検 books in my local bookshop.
