Can anyone give me the title of some good ones? You know the kind I mean, I don't know how to explain it though. I love the overall stupidity of them. I wouldn't actually learn any Japanese off it, but they're a good excuse to pretend I'm learning! Wink

Some of these might stretch the limit of your definition of a 'game show', but here goes:

Quiz! Hexagon II (クイズ!ヘキサゴンII); a quiz show famous for its ‘Obaka Tarento’, or dumb talent – watch for the bit where these cerebrally-challenged celebrities try to read difficult kanji words.
Himitsu no Kenmin Show (秘密のケンミンSHOW); in which celebrities are amazed by regional differences – did you know in Yamanashi they eat peaches with the skin on, while they’re still hard?
Majotachi no 22 ji (魔女たちの22時); a Japanese makeover show, complete with recreations and the amazed expressions of studio guests.
Otameshi ka (お試しかっ!); in which comedians try to order the ten most popular things on the menu at a particular restaurant. They have to keep eating until they do.
Gurunai (ぐるない); in which a different set of celebrities compete to order food at a restaurant that adds up to a target price. The loser foots the bill.
Hajimete no Otsukai (はじめてのおつかい); in which tiny little children go on their first errand. Unbearably cute.
Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!! (ダウンタウンのガキの使いやあらへんで!!); Japanese comedy. Watch out for the New Year special, where various comedians are walloped for laughing.

If you only watch one, make it Hajimete no Otsukai. It is utterly brilliant. One of my favourites is the one where a kid has to bring back a daikon, but because the daikon is about the same size as the kid, by the time he gets it back home it's just a stump from having been dragged along the floor.

アイドリング!!!
AKBINGO!
脱出ゲーム DERO!

Those are all my favorites.

I'm a fan of VS嵐(I have massive 嵐 bias going, though, so maybe it's only funny cuz I'm familiar with the group). Tokyo Friends Park is fun. モジモジくんHYPER 脳カベ is the human tetris game.

There's also a list over here: http://telewatcher.com/game-shows/10-bizarre-japanese-game-shows/ which might point you in the direction of some good stuff...

This show is so ridiculously cute I was basically in a constant state of d'aww.

I hate shows with kids, and even I have to admit that that show is awesome. (Maybe it's because the kids aren't trying to act, but are just being natural.) I've seen 2 of them now.

Oh my goodness! I just watched a short segment (found it on Japan Probe), featuring a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old grocery shopping. Too cute for words!

Even better, I understood a few things that were being said. Granted, there were some English explanations (not true subtitles, just commentary), but I understood some of the actual dialog. I'm sure if I watched a few more times, I'd hear/recognize even more words. Very encouraging.

I'm going to have to find some way to watch more Japanese television. I'd definitely tune in to this one.

With the children shopping for their mom? I wouldn't let my children to go shopping by themselves. =__=

You obviously haven't watched the show. It has children do tasks for the first time, by themselves. There are always cameras, and the one that involved a train-ride had the mom disguise herself and sneak on board and watch from a distance as well. The children are in no danger, though they don't know that.

It's not like these people send their children to do these tasks every day. It's just a TV show thing.

This one sounds good, thanks!

In the back of my mind, a voice says, 子共にこんな悪戯していいのか、おい.

But I have to admit, those kids are full of win! Plus, this actually looks like a decent learning resource for beginners, since they have easy children's dialogue, and with occasional fluffy Japanese subtitles to boot.

Some of the funniest ones are the naughty kids. Like the kids who run out of money while trying to treat themselves to ice-creams. Or the kid making orange juice who just sits and plays under the kitchen table.
