RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - zachandhobbes - 2010-08-27 辻 Why does this have an 'extra' drop on the 'road' primitive but in the book there is no such extra one which is right? RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - Katsuo - 2010-08-27 See this thread. RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - zachandhobbes - 2010-08-27 Ah sorry to pollute the forum. Thanks!! RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - zachandhobbes - 2010-08-28 I have another issue: 言 I took 3 years of chinese school, and while I forgot 90% of it, I do remember this kanji. However I remember learning it with a drop on top and 3 lines and then the box, instead of 4 lines and a box. Further googling shows inconsistency in this topic. Which one is more accurate? RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - Lionel - 2010-08-28 You could use this site to check for correct handwriting: http://www.yamasa.cc/members/ocjs/kanjidic.nsf/SortedByKanji2THEnglish/%E8%A8%80?OpenDocument The first picture is the printed style, the second is what you should aim for when writing by hand, and the third is what it will become like as you develop cursive writing. Other characters which differ considerably between printed and handwritten versions include 心, 人, 入, 令 and the corresponding compounds. Their printer font, however, renders the first four strokes as a funky AT&T logo looking thing, and is best shunned. RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - zachandhobbes - 2010-08-28 Thanks guys. I asked my mom and she said the same thing, the drop on top is the best way to write it. It was just inconsistent because the character on the side had 4 lines and the stroke diagram had a drop+3. Also thanks Lionel, for the note about those other ones. Especially 人 which I learned in from immersion but always confused me how it was written differently sometimes. RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - hereticalrants - 2010-08-29 That primitive actually is handwritten with the first stroke being a horizontal line when it is in characters such as 這. If you´re copying characters from your computer screen, I suggest you use the kanji stroke order font or similar. It would just be wierd to write in printer font. RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - phantombk201 - 2010-08-29 i haven't been writing that drop at the top, actually i have been writing in printing style since i started and im already more than half way through:S RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - Mushi - 2010-08-29 phantombk201 Wrote:i haven't been writing that drop at the top, actually i have been writing in printing style since i started and im already more than half way through:SCool! I'd like to see your handwriting when your kanji studies are complete. It will be so legible, since it'll be indistinguishable from a computer printout. RevTK not consistent with RTK characters? - zachandhobbes - 2010-08-29 Haha yeah, your handwriting will be really neat, but it will take longer to write :o the sacrifices of having girly - I mean good - handwriting...
