I am looking for a site where I can do a search about Japanese grammar, I know there are many sites about grammar but I'm looking for something like an online dictionary but instead of looking up words you can look up grammar. Sites like tai kims grammar manual or books are great but they are not easy to use if you just want to check something specific, for example while you are reading and find some conjugation that you're not sure about.

Looking up grammar is kind of hard.
I was trying to look up this (excerpt from Mahoraba) and didn't understand volitional + とする.

I looked up とする on Tae Kim's site: http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/grammar. Just type とする in the search box on the site. Volitional + とする comes up - it's the third result.

In the first result, it refers to the previous lesson where volitional + とする is covered. It means "attempt to do [volitional]." That's a subject for another thread though.

If there is a conjugation you're not sure about:
To to WWWJDIC and look up the verb. Then click [V]. Then check the conjugation you're not sure about.
There can be weird ones. For example ている is sometimes (but actually pretty often) converted to てる in both speech and dialogue. When this happens, you won't be able to look it up. In this case, it's best to ask. There is a "what's this word or phrase" thread you can try and countless other forums out there.

Yeah, I think the best thing you can do is study some source that presents the grammar in a structured fashion and then ask questions about what you don't know. Once you know about a particular structure it's easier to spot.
