Writing of '幾' - abacus primitive - gyouza - 2010-08-23 Hey guys! I just stumbled over an inconsistency between the given stroke count in the book (and here on the site), and my own stroke count in the frames 1381 "幾" and 1382 "機". The official stroke count for the abacus is 16 while I only came up with 15! Then I spotted that in the kanji, there is a tiny additional drop right below the right-hand 'cocoon'. That explains the missing stroke. But this drop is not mentioned neither by Heisig, nor in the top rated stories here on RevTK. Now I'm wondering, if there are further traps in the Heisig book. Or is this drop so unimportant that it is usually omitted in written language? Writing of '幾' - abacus primitive - yudantaiteki - 2010-08-23 The drop is always there. I'm not familiar enough with Heisig to explain the specifics of RTK but most kanji with the 戈 element have that drop. Writing of '幾' - abacus primitive - gyouza - 2010-08-23 Oh right! My mistake! I think I got a little confused here. Sorry! |
