Beginning RTK1 first time. - Michael1919 - 2010-08-23 Plan to study for 2-3 hours everyday. How much Kanji should I be learning daily if I'm studying that amount of time? Beginning RTK1 first time. - Nukemarine - 2010-08-23 Should be able to get about 30 to 40 kanji in that time which is roughly 5 minutes a new kanji. You'll get more early on as you're not reviewing any yet. As the reviews (and missed reviews) pile on you'll get less time for adding new cards. Anyway, I always recommend: Review due cards, Study missed cards, Study new cards (in that order). You'll naturally pace yourself that way. Beginning RTK1 first time. - Michael1919 - 2010-08-23 Thanks. Beginning RTK1 first time. - wulfgar - 2010-08-23 I second the "Review due cards, Study missed cards, Study new cards (in that order)." But i must say that way is not set in stone. Make sure your missed cards stack does not get to big because as you will find, the largest amount of time spent will be on re-learning old cards. So, I would recommend never exceeding 10 re-study cards. When you get to 10 re-study cards, review them and get back to the due cards. Best of luck!
