Where can I buy japanese manga? - hanear21 - 2010-08-05 I live in small town Wisconsin and there are absolutely zero places where I can find anything japanese. I want to find a japanese version of びんちょうタン as I recently read that it is good reading for beginners. I already have Yotsuba& btw. Anyway I have no trouble finding more popular titles on sites like amazon, but what about less mainstream titles like Binchou-tan? Thanks. Gives you all the delivery options and sells them at the same price they sell for in Japan - tax!! Where can I buy japanese manga? - Axlen - 2010-08-05 Mitsuwa now has online shopping. I know they have a store near Chicago with a nice bookshop. They have lots of manga at the store. You might like to take a trip there sometime. They have also have a bakery, grocery store, liquor shop and cafe. Here's a link to one of their pages: http://shop.mitsuwa.com/eng/egoods/eindex.php?c=13&s=88 It's not a great selection online. There seems to be mostly manga magazine subscriptions offered. At the bookstore there are plenty of tankubon to choose from though. Where can I buy japanese manga? - astendra - 2010-08-18 Does anyone have experience with ordering from bk1 to Europe? I.e. delivery times, etc. etc. Is it about the same as the U.S? I always order seamail; I think the last lot took 7 weeks, give or take a week. I can't imagine the delivery options involving aeroplanes vary much from country to country... Where can I buy japanese manga? - kimagure - 2010-08-19 I always choose エコノミー国際郵便(SAL) at bk1 and it takes about 2-3 weeks to Poland. Where can I buy japanese manga? - Asriel - 2010-08-19 Whooaaa, I don't know why I didn't notice this when you actually posted it, but small town Wisconsin?!? Which small town!? Or...where is the closest semi-decently sized town? I'm also a small-town Wisconsonite, so just wondering whats up? Where can I buy japanese manga? - Kewickviper - 2010-08-19 I usually choose air mail and that can take a week or two weeks, its usually very fast! I chose by sea this time though to be a cheapskate and its already been a little over 2 weeks. Where can I buy japanese manga? - hanear21 - 2010-08-19 @Asriel - I live in Green Bay, which I know for wisconsin is not very small...but it might as well be considering the lamentable amount of diversity here. Thankfully this forum has a wealth of resources. Where can I buy japanese manga? - Asriel - 2010-08-19 Aah, OK...still decently sized. I'm coming back from Japan in about 3 weeks. I'm not sure what prices you're looking at online, but I could pick you up a bunch of stuff from Book Off if you're willing to wait that long. Shipping would just cost from Madison->Green Bay, and the books would likely be $1 to $5 per book, depending on what you wanted. Where can I buy japanese manga? - hanear21 - 2010-08-19 Thanks I appreciate the offer. I think I'll just look around on the web though. Where can I buy japanese manga? - Asriel - 2010-08-20 Alright, no problem. If you change your mind, I'm here until September 8th. It's probably the cheapest you'll find it, but I understand privacy issues, etc, so don't worry about it. Where can I buy japanese manga? - jonuhey - 2011-08-08 sorry for the necro post, but didnt want to start new thread about this. Did anyone bought used items in amazon.co.jp already? Im tempted to buy a whole collection of a manga that I already own in portuguese (so that I could compare translation) and its going for 3100円 with 23 volumes (around 60,00 R$). Its a pretty good price imo, but too good that Im kinda on defensive on this lol. What intrigues me most is if they would ship it to Brasil, I tried reading there, but my japanese isnt that good yet and couldnt find any good confirmation about shippment of used items, does they work the same way? I know maybe I should buy one or two to test, but having all of them would be so nice lol Where can I buy japanese manga? - Jarvik7 - 2011-08-08 I'm guessing no international shipping for used items. Amazon just gives sellers a fixed amount for shipping (set by item type) regardless of actual cost. Sellers are not allowed to ask for money for shipping. I used to sell some of my old crap on Amazon but I always had to pay more for shipping than what Amazon gave me, so sometimes I'd be giving away my stuff almost for free if I didn't overprice my items to compensate. International shipping would make it a net loss for sellers. Where can I buy japanese manga? - jonuhey - 2011-08-08 ok thanks... think will just buy a couple new ones. I probably will struggle to read even a single manga at this point lol |
