Mandela sounds like "mandala", as in Heisig's primitive, and Mushi-chan is giving example stories for "ridicule" and "loose", kanji that use said primitive.

So whether it's funny or witty remains open to debate, but at least it's not a complete WTF.

the world celebrated the fun and laughter of the world cup. south africa still has challenges but they came together to celebrate football and life. it was an amazing month and I already miss it.

I doubt any major sports event will be held on the continent of Africa in the next several decades due to those annoying bee swarm noises drowning out the World Cup. That will be what most people outside of Spain will remember about South Africa hosing the world's most popular sporting event (my apologies to the Olympics).

It seems some anime came to Holland and nowhere else, like Maple Town ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maple_Town ) and Samurai Pizza Cats ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samurai_Pizza_Cats ). I'm pretty the latter was shown in English (American accents), but I have yet to find an American who knows it. Anyway, I loved these shows as a kid. ^^

I've never tried Tsubasa, but I can always get nostalgic feelings out of native speakers my age by saying things like 我が生涯に一片の悔いなし！ and 退かぬ！媚びぬ！省みぬ！
