For Sale (in Japan) - FutureBlues - 2010-07-04

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put a thread like this, but with so many people in Japan and so many people going to Japan, I have a few things that I don't need to take home with me (I'm leaving Japan) so I thought I'd list them here just in case anyone is interested in them. (And if this is the wrong forum, or this isn't allowed/encouraged, feel free to delete/move this post.)

Anyway, the stuff:

(MINT, 9mo.) Jap. Xbox 360 (plays many USA/etc. games) w/ 20Gb HDD, Halo: ODST: controllers, VGA hookup, mic. and select USA games available; (10000 yen (see below))

(Mint) Logitech LS21 2.1 Speaker/Subwoofer Set (2000 yen)

(Mint, 6Mo.) Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner bought for 12,000 (6,000 yen)

(Great condition, 2.5yrs) Pre-unibody 2008 MacBook Pro: Core2Duo 2.4Ghz, 10k RPM 160HDD, new battery with less than 20 full cycles, Nvidia 8600M GT 256VRAM graphics card. (Includes Snow Leopard, Leopard CDs, original box, etc.) (60,000 - 100,000 yen)

(Mint) Casio EX-Word Dataplus 3 Electronic Dictionary: includes ability to draw kanji for dictionary lookup, large keyboard, case, stylus, etc. (13,000 yen)

Most of this stuff comes nearly new with original box, instruction manual, and often warranty cards, etc. It's all in great condition.

Cheers folks.

(Edit: Updated with some potential prices based on Gazelle.com buyback amounts and Ebay examination.)

(Prices, quantities updated.)

I need furniture for my new apartment but shipping from Yamaguchi to Aichi isn't worth it Tongue

We really should have a stickied buy/sell/trade thread somewhere though. I've got a cool toaster oven I don't need anymore Big Grin

What are you asking for the xbox and mac? I *might* be intersted.

Honestly, I'm not really sure what they're worth.

The Xbox is in the best condition it possibly could be, relatively new unit with a factory-replaced DVD drive (the original failed less than a month into ownership and it was replaced under warranty; the new one is quiet and trouble-free), but shipping it home is cost-prohibitive and I'd rather have an American DVD drive back in the states.

Depending on what you want me to include with the 360, the price will inevitably change. Basically there's the unit itself, with the 20GB HDD and base connectors / controller, original boxes, etc. Then there's Halo: ODST (JP) which I thought I'd throw in for free. (I don't need it.) I've also got two extra wireless controllers, a wireless mic and it's charging cable, and finally a VGA cable for hooking the 360 up to a computer or LCD monitor-- all as optional stuff. I could also potentially throw in a few USA games (Red Dead Redemption, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, etc. at retail or near retail price, such that I wouldn't have to ship them home.)

Maybe $130 for the base unit, HDD, wireless controller, and ODST and then tack on additional costs depending on how many controllers or games you want to add to that?

The laptop is in great condition too. Most of the internals (besides the HDD/optical drive) were replaced under warranty for a failure related to a faulty power adapter (which was also replaced). So while the laptop itself is almost three years old, the internals are closer to 1.5 years old. Since the repairs/replacement, I haven't had a single issue with the machine, battery, or power adapter. The screen is matte and beautiful, not a single dead pixel or anything. (However, if/when I wipe the drive and do a base SL install, the SL default color profiles are a little warm.) The original screen had a bit of yellowing and I pushed and pushed and eventually Apple replaced it with a perfect screen hand-picked out of a batch of good ones. As a photographer I insisted that that the color be uniform throughout. It's also got 4Gb of ram in it.

Gazelle tells me they'll give me $534 USD for it, which seems low, but is an option if I can't sell it before I leave and similar models seem to be starting between $600 - $1000 on Ebay, so I suppose an offer in that range would be most tempting.

And if even a very small part of the money obtained through such thread went as donations to Fabrice, that would be extremely good too.

This is a bump, as some items have changed/gotten cheaper. Please take another look. Thanks.
