Introducing the iPed! - Oniichan - 2010-05-31 An iPad killer. Look out Apple! ; ) Introducing the iPed! - Tobberoth - 2010-05-31 Pretty cool that they made a copy which actually seems to work well. Introducing the iPed! - Grinkers - 2010-05-31 It's cheap enough to buy on a whim too. I'd be interested if the battery life was decent. Introducing the iPed! - Asriel - 2010-05-31 I think I might go out seeing if I can't find one, just for the hell of it. It runs Android, so I should theoretically do what I want on it. Introducing the iPed! - Oniichan - 2010-05-31 Well, the real competition will begin when Asus begins selling their new pads, one of which they claim will have a 12" screen, run windows 7 home premium, sport an Intel core2duo processor and have 10 hours of battery life. http://www.pcworld.com/article/197599/asus_new_10_and_12inch_eee_pad_tablets_first_pics.html As an owner of a 10" eeepc netbook, I can say that Asus makes excellent products and probably will give Apple some stiff competition in the coming months if they can deliver pads with these specs. But, Apple still has one trick up its sleeve. iMat anyone? http://rajkian.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/500x_evoipad22.jpg?w=500&h=1487 Introducing the iPed! - Asriel - 2010-05-31 Oniichan Wrote:Well, the real competition will begin when Asus begins selling their new pads, one of which they claim will have a 12" screen, run windows 7 home premium, sport a Intel core2duo processor and have 10 hours of battery life. http://www.pcworld.com/article/197599/asus_new_10_and_12inch_eee_pad_tablets_first_pics.htmlThis is what I was really hoping for -- an actual tablet computer, not just an oversized iPod. But when it comes to something like Asus, that's something that's going to cost more than something to buy on a whim. iPed, it's less than 10,000 yen, so if I were in some store and saw it, I would probably pick it up. Introducing the iPed! - wccrawford - 2010-05-31 I've got a TabletPC with Win7. It's not all it's cracked up to be. Even if Win7 itself didn't require a TON of CPU and GPU and memory, the interface isn't made for using with your hands. And good digitizers are -expensive- it's not like you can use it for a decent drawing tablet, either. I'm looking forward to some good Android-based tablets from good companies. Asus will do. Introducing the iPed! - Mcjon01 - 2010-05-31 They're not really going to call it iPed, are they? I mean, the iPad got a ridiculous amount of flak just for sounding like a feminine hygiene product. Making your product sound like a trendy accessory for pedophiles probably isn't a good way to corner the international market. Introducing the iPed! - Pauline - 2010-05-31 I'm more interested in Notion Ink's ADAM (http://www.notionink.in/adamoverview.php) that is expected to be released this summer. |
