Quote:The video shows workers holding down newborn calves and stomping on their heads. It shows one worker wiring a cow’s nose to a metal bar near the ground and repeatedly beating it with another bar while it bleeds.
Please note that I am not condemning people who partake in food or drink from animals. Not all farms abuse their livestock in this manner.

That's really disgusting... I couldn't watch more than a minute of the video.

Although I do eat meat and dairy products, I try to limit how much I do eat. I have gone on a vegetarian diet for a month before, to try it out (and partially because I'm against animal abuse), but had to give it up mostly because of the added cost of following a veggie diet, and the increased time to cook certain meals. It is something I would like to try again once I am no longer in college.

However, I don't understand what must run through someone's mind to actually want to do something like this. I fully understand that the whole world adopting a vegan diet is not really feasible, especially in America (us fat people can't stop eating our burgers and processed shit), but have these places ever heard of as quick and painless a death as possible? There is NO reason for these animals to be brutally beaten in this way. Makes me sick to my stomach.

This is NOT standard farm procedure. This is just cruelty for cruelty's sake. You don't have to go vegan to stop supporting such things. Luckily, there are usually many different farms providing the same products in your local grocery store, so if you really care, you can try boycotting certain farms.
