Heh. I saw this on reddit a short while ago. Ridiculous passages. Seems to mix several different decades together... "crunk" and "bomb" have not been use within the same 5 year stretch. Not among people I've socialized with at least. I don't know anyone that has seriously used "fly" since the early 90's.

Yeah, it was on reddit and it's ridiculous. That's what happens when a bunch of not so cunning linguists try to make a textbook.

Edit: But what's a do boy? I tried searching and the best I get is a link to a Wikipedia article on Deconstruction: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deconstruction "The do boy initially resisted granting to his approach the overarching name "deconstruction," on the grounds that it was a precise technical term that could not be used to characterise his work generally. Nevertheless, he eventually accepted that the term had come into common use to refer to his textual approach, and Derrida himself increasingly began to use the term in this more general way." Probably doesn't belong there Big Grin

That passage makes almost zero sense, and using that kind of language in any time period would probably give some people a good laugh at you. As someone big into hip hop, this sounds like someone took a bunch of random "slang" words they read on some website about slang and tried to use them in a sentence. Oh, also, they are not native English speakers.

That's how it reads to me, anyway.

A prostitute and her pimp/crack dealer went to market their services/products. Little did they know that they intruding upon the territory of another prostitute and her pimp. The opposing pimp stabbed Lily's pimp and caused him to die of blood loss. He now resides with the classy pimps and hos in hooker heaven.

I'm more concerned about the kind of parent that would name their kid "Sugar". I mean, that's pretty much a sure-fire way to bypass the whole "Nature vs. Nurture" debate and directly damn your kid to being either 400 pounds or a stripper. Or, most likely, a 400 pound stripper.

I knew a girl in high school named Cake. Not a joke.

I love that the guy is "a real fly". And all this time I thought he was pretending to be a fly!

Disturbing topic is disturbing.

@eikyuu

I think they meant "dough boy." Otherwise they're retarded. Wait... no they are retarded. This will determine whether or not they are high functioning.

According to a Facebook group dedicated to Lily and Sugar, this is excerpted from a textbook for Reading in the Content Field, a course at Washington College.
