Hi, I am looking for transcripts and video/audio of TV shows, news, or documentaries, anything other than drama/movies. Is there such a thing available on the internet? any help or hints will be appreciated.

i don't know of any... but you know they have those pretty colorful big text in the show which doesn't cover evreything they say but they help...

All I could find is the transcripts of TV dramas on the dramanote website. I am not a fan of drama, so I am looking for more real day to day conversations with transcripts so that I could analyze and study. I am still a beginner so transcripts are better than subtitles for me.

Most news stations have started streaming their news in the past year or two. I like NHK the most because it's the driest, most straightforward news available. Also, they have the best setup.

well, I am not that beginner, I have been studying on and off for many years and actually I can understand the outline of most conversations, but now I want to review/study in a more systematic and serious manner.

I wish I can find transcripts for interviews or TV talk shows, where many people speak about a certain subject, what is the name of such a show where many people from different nationalities discuss an issue?

I'm aiming to read 50 pages of japanese a day. (100 maximum a day). Just for practice,etc,etc. Reading does help a lot, outside of the srs too

-- i googled to find the date the episode aired to find the script but i also found this http://imajin726.jugem.jp/?eid=1639 where the person typed up some of the stuff they said.

there is a chance that someone japanese person likes whateer show enough he or she may type up some of the dialogue on his/her blog . like one time I searched for this red theater skit and I found it. it was the one with jarujaru & kaki 火気　牡蠣　柿　夏季　楽器.

I typed in the subtitles to an NHK series for Youtube, though I haven't had time to finish the last three videos yet.

This is a great effort, thanks a lot, this is definetly more interesting than dramas for me. Any chance you can post the transcript as a separate text file, so that I could look up the kanjis?

I was thinking the same thing, this would be helpful. Majority of the time now the kanji that I have most diffculty with are names/places. I guess it's time I focus on places/人名用漢字
