When the end of learning kanji was coming nearer and nearer, about at the time I was at my 1600. or 1700. frame, I suddenly felt very demotivated.
The end was very hard for me.One idea flashed. It thought...how good it would be if someone made a motivational video about learning kanji, so that I could kick back, relax and watch it to feel more motivated. Searching for motivational posts on the forum was very time-consuming and tiresome. So I thought that it would be nice if I could watch a video with some ideas and beautiful pictures to feel more motivated to finish RTK1, and remember what is so good about Kanji.
Unfortunately I didn´t find such a video, so I decided to make one myself, for the sake of the people, who are going to finish RTK1 after me.
I added all kinds of ideas in the video. Some are my own, some came from the users of this forum, thanks for that!
Someone on this forum said, that just trying to read japanese text with kanji for 10 minutes made him feel motivated to learn kanji.
So to make things easier I added 3 haikus and used kanji instead of some english words, so that you can read, or at least see kanji in a motivational video.

Oh buddy, thank you thank you for making this video. I am at 1500, and its getting tough right now. Its like I am "slogging in a bog through the fog". I must say this really made my evening and I think it will one of the best things an RTK forumer has ever done for us late kanji gamers.

Jettyke: what a great video! I'm already done with RTK1, so I don't need motivation anymore, but it was nice to see how much effort you put in, and the thing you do with adding the numbers (25+25+25+25=100) I did that too. XD

Thank you, that was just what I needed right now! For the second time since starting RTK I'm stuck in a low motivation period, but you know, the comparison between learning kanji and school classes was effective!

, I usually added 50 a day, when this was my main priority. An then maybe 50 more. I always had the amount of learnt kanji and the number left to learn as my msn´s personal message, and modified it. I guess nest0r has a point. At some point you know japanese well enough to get well by. I think at that time motivation is harder to come so easily... as learning japanese is not that important anymore if you can function well in it. If I guessed well enough about what nest0r wanted to say.

I kept having to think of that quote: 'A journey of a thousand miles starts with one single step' (or however it goes again) so my PM was: '1576 steps down a 2042 mile road'. And I kept changing the first number when I had learnt more.

haha, cool!My main motivation was always to learn 50 more in one sitting, and then quickly modify the msn´s number and see how invincible I am
`*laughs*. Sometimes I´d do 100 or 150( it happened only at the very end). I usually set my day´s goal before beginning the learning.My PM looked like this: 1900...142
People would sometimes ask: what the hell are you counting??? But I didn´t care much about not having put any explanation about the numbers in my PM.
I didn´t put the numbers to show everyone, but to feel invincible and more motivated, which I did.
It´s such a reward to add 50 more kanji to your PM, just...sweet!

By the way... how did you make this video? I want to make a wedding video for my freind but dont know how to make videos. I have their pictures cropped and ready but wanted to make a video with nice bouncy text like yours for the caption. Ideas? Advice?
