Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - jettyke - 2010-05-01 When the end of learning kanji was coming nearer and nearer, about at the time I was at my 1600. or 1700. frame, I suddenly felt very demotivated. The end was very hard for me.One idea flashed. It thought...how good it would be if someone made a motivational video about learning kanji, so that I could kick back, relax and watch it to feel more motivated. Searching for motivational posts on the forum was very time-consuming and tiresome. So I thought that it would be nice if I could watch a video with some ideas and beautiful pictures to feel more motivated to finish RTK1, and remember what is so good about Kanji. ![]() Unfortunately I didn´t find such a video, so I decided to make one myself, for the sake of the people, who are going to finish RTK1 after me. I added all kinds of ideas in the video. Some are my own, some came from the users of this forum, thanks for that! Someone on this forum said, that just trying to read japanese text with kanji for 10 minutes made him feel motivated to learn kanji. So to make things easier I added 3 haikus and used kanji instead of some english words, so that you can read, or at least see kanji in a motivational video. Remember to read the description! ![]() So here it is: I hope it will help !
Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - shapirog - 2010-05-01 Nice! What's the music? Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - Asriel - 2010-05-01 I know I was getting lazy, some might say downtrodden, around the 1700 area. It's a tough area. 50% is like "Woo! Half way done!!" and then 1700 is like "why aren't I done yet "good thought motivating people! Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - KREVA - 2010-05-01 Good choice in music.
Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - wulfgar - 2010-05-01 Oh buddy, thank you thank you for making this video. I am at 1500, and its getting tough right now. Its like I am "slogging in a bog through the fog". I must say this really made my evening and I think it will one of the best things an RTK forumer has ever done for us late kanji gamers. THANK YOU! Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - hotsw4p - 2010-05-01 thank you very thoughtful!i liked the music too, can you share with us what artists they are? Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - TaylorSan - 2010-05-01 Nice video! I love the art at the beginning, and that's some excellent music you chose (I want those tracks - who is it?). I also admire that you saw a need for something, and just created it. Very well done! Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - BJohnsen - 2010-05-02 Oh that was great! Thank you. The sentences in 日本語 motivated me to start learning faster so I can start actually reading things.... And I also want to know the source of the music. Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - jettyke - 2010-05-02 Everyone, thanks a lot for positive replies!=D Music: 1 LUNCH TIME SPEAX - 情景1 2 Shakkazombie - Niji 3 Shakkazombie - Non Phixion 4 Kick The Can Crew - タカオニ 2000 Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - nest0r - 2010-05-02 This video is really discouraging. It makes you realize all you need to do is buy a plane ticket and fly to Japan to look at the buildings, or just go to the various picture sets on Flickr. ;p Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - Koos83 - 2010-05-02 Down, nest0r. Jettyke: what a great video! I'm already done with RTK1, so I don't need motivation anymore, but it was nice to see how much effort you put in, and the thing you do with adding the numbers (25+25+25+25=100) I did that too. XD Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - isselk - 2010-05-02 Thank you, that was just what I needed right now! For the second time since starting RTK I'm stuck in a low motivation period, but you know, the comparison between learning kanji and school classes was effective! Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - jettyke - 2010-05-02 Koos83 Wrote:Down, nest0r.Oh, I like numbers , I usually added 50 a day, when this was my main priority. An then maybe 50 more. I always had the amount of learnt kanji and the number left to learn as my msn´s personal message, and modified it . I guess nest0r has a point. At some point you know japanese well enough to get well by. I think at that time motivation is harder to come so easily... as learning japanese is not that important anymore if you can function well in it. If I guessed well enough about what nest0r wanted to say. Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - nest0r - 2010-05-02 nest0r was joking that if someone were discouraged and watching this video, they might tell themselves "What I like about this video is the nonverbal imagery of Japan--I guess I don't actually need to learn Japanese to appreciate that!" Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - Koos83 - 2010-05-03 jettyke Wrote:I had the amount learnt as my MSN PM as well!!! XD I thought I was the only one that was that crazy. :lol:Koos83 Wrote:Down, nest0r.Oh, I like numbers I kept having to think of that quote: 'A journey of a thousand miles starts with one single step' (or however it goes again) so my PM was: '1576 steps down a 2042 mile road'. And I kept changing the first number when I had learnt more. Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - jettyke - 2010-05-03 haha, cool!My main motivation was always to learn 50 more in one sitting, and then quickly modify the msn´s number and see how invincible I am `*laughs*. Sometimes I´d do 100 or 150( it happened only at the very end). I usually set my day´s goal before beginning the learning. My PM looked like this: 1900...142 People would sometimes ask: what the hell are you counting??? But I didn´t care much about not having put any explanation about the numbers in my PM. I didn´t put the numbers to show everyone, but to feel invincible and more motivated, which I did. It´s such a reward to add 50 more kanji to your PM, just...sweet!

Hey, Fellow RTKers! I made a motivational video for you! - Es2Kay - 2011-03-14 jettyke tnx for the great video, it's was helpful when I was going through RTK1. Today I was watching this video again and when I saw "分かるか?今、この見る事を止めて。そうして、勉強してよ!" I've turned off the video and done some great amount of reviews (It was so cool to understand this since I'm completely beginner) Hey, Fellow RTKers!
