The site is really nice btw, streams of almost everything I can think to search for. Some stuff is premium content as a way to help the site stay afloat it seems, but most things are available to normal members.

I was thinking that the assorted video streams might be extra challenged this week due to the World Cup. I don't doubt there are any number of expatriate Japanese following it closely on TBS, and that some of the people in the .eu who would be devoting their bandwidth to re-transmitting anime would rather see what's going on for themselves.

Tabuchi-san's twitter feed is pretty interesting, and while it's not monolingual, it does cover some gaming/technology news and some social/political news from the inside. Much more entertaining than the sanitized English language summaries from the newspapers.
Also, I think we should start a separate thread for the "I want an invite to x."
