Where to find N1 Grammar list? - dizmox - 2010-04-25
Has this been uploaded anywhere online yet, or is buying a book for the new specification's grammar the only option? I'm aware of a couple of them but not sure where to order from that doesn't have outrageous shipping fees, so I'd end up having to get my friend in Japan to resend it to me which is a pain.
It strikes me as odd that while aimed at foreigners, these books aren't sold outside of Japanese retailers.
edit: I ended up ordering it anyway but it'd still be nice to know

They aren't being published. This is from the JLPT site (http://www.jlpt.jp/e/about/new-jlpt.html):
Why aren’t the “Test Content Specifications” going to be published?
The goal of learning Japanese is not to memorize vocabulary, kanji, and grammar,
but to become capable of using them as a means of communication. The new
test is to measure both “Japanese language knowledge, including vocabulary and
grammar,” and “the competence required to perform communicative tasks using
language knowledge.” Therefore, we determined that it is not appropriate to publish
“Test Content Specifications” which includes the lists of vocabulary, kanji, and
grammar.
So I'm not sure how the book publishers are coming up with what to put in the books. There are sample questions on that site which will give you a feel for the level.

Hmm, so they're probably drawing on the previous specifications then.
Yeah, it really would be better to just become fluent at Japanese without worrying about exam specs, but as December and next Summer being my only chances to sit the exam before jobhunting starts I best try and get some credentials first...

They ship from the USA so it should be cheap depending were you live.

If my copies of Kanzen Master 1 & 2 are any indication, you can find the new grammar lists just by slapping a fancy sticker on the old study books.
Though I can't vouch for the reliability of this method since they probably just did it to move units.
