An argument in favor of early immersion - thurd - 2010-04-22
Throughout my studies I've often found myself in the following situation:
I add a new word (from manga or Core2k+6k), try to learn it (disassemble kanji, say it a couple of times and listen to its audio) and thats when it strikes me.. "I know this word... from somewhere". Usually I can trace it to a song (recently ζζ ) rarely anime (like ζδΎ) but its there in my head without me knowing what it means or even that its there. Its just something that my brain found amusing enough to "sponge" (is that a verb even?).
I've found that words like these are always easy to remember especially if I "refresh" them as soon as I learn its meaning. Guess all this early immersion does work at some point

I get this all the time, that's why I'm currently breezing through Core2K. Most of this due to words I picked up watching anime. Yay immersion
