Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - Hashiriya - 2011-06-04 grrr i'm trying to get my clipboard to work in windows 7 and I can't seem to figure it out... anybody got any advice? Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - cb4960 - 2011-06-04 kodorakun Wrote:Looking good. Testing out here on a Mac Book Pro, OS X 10.6.3 and it works fine (I have mplayer setup and the audio extension functions perfectly). Thanks for confirming OSX support! 1) Oh yeah, nest0r suggested something similar in this post. I'll try to look into it for the next version. 2) The sticky popup option is a toggle. To activate it, mouse over a word and press "k". Now the popup should remain in place until you mouse over another word. It has a different behavior from your suggestion in 1). 3) That would be nice. I did a cursory search for some kind of EPWing parser/library but came up short. If anyone has any suggestions, do let me know. In the worst case, I might be able to adapt some source code from wahnfrieden's Manabi Dictionary. 4) Thanks. Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - Tori-kun - 2011-06-05 @cb4960: Does this mod save the audio of a word hovered above already? Is the "/" error fixed I was talking about previously in this topic? Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - howtwosavealif3 - 2011-06-05 love you! it'll make it so much faster and easier to look up words I come cross in books I read in Japanese (I do J-J)
Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - cb4960 - 2011-06-05 I have just uploaded version 11.0 of the rikaichan JDIC audio plugin. Download version 11.0 via Mediafire What's New? ● The save file format is now specified using tokens: ![]() This affords the user the flexibility to specify the exact format they desire. For example, Tori-kun can now take advantage of Anki's furigana feature as described in this post. The default format is $d$t$r which means: "Dictionary form" + "Tab character" + "Reading". You don't have to limit the format to just tokens, you may insert any text that you desire. Tip: Don't forget to add a "Tab character" token between fields. ● You can now save audio clips. (Thanks Tori-kun!). To enable, specify the directory that will contain the audio clips in the "Saved audio" text box (Options... → Clipboard & Save tab). Now whenever you press the "s" key, the audio for the highlighted word will be saved to the specified folder. To disable this feature, just remove the directory from the "Saved audio" text box. The saved audio clips will will be formatted like this: "kana - kanji.mp3". ● The "Sentence w/ blank" field now puts the blank in the correct spot and will no longer sometimes show the first character of the blanked word. (Thanks rejam!) ● In the save file, when the "Dictionary form" of the word contains no kanji, the "Reading" of word will no longer be blank, instead it will match the "Dictionary form" field. (Thanks dat5h!) ● The "Sentence" field is now delimited by a newline character in addition to the "。" character. That is, a sentence starts at the previous newline character or "。" character before the highlighted word and ends at the next newline character or "。" character after the highlighted word. ● In the save file's "Translation" field, each meaning is now separated by a semi-colon instead of a slash. (Thanks Tori-kun!) ● Removed the "Field separator" drop-down from the "Clipboard & Save" preference tab. ● The link to the study page now works for all kanji (not just the RTK kanji). The link is now placed on the "Heisig" text and on the number next to it. cb4960 Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - duelarm - 2011-06-06 Just downloaded the new version, work great! One question though when importing the information into anki, because the audio clips are formatted as "kanji - kanji.mp3"(which anki doesnt read), is there anyway to automatically make it [sound:わく - 枠.mp3] instead? ( just adding [sound:x.mp3]. or could it be that theres an anki feature that can do this automatically? I actually figured out how to get the [sound:] wrap there by puttin it in the [sound:$a] in the rikai chan options, but anki still doesnt read it, so i guess it must be an entirely different method. Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - Tori-kun - 2011-06-06 cb4960, you're a genius. Simply a genius. Thought about giving this mod an own name? I mean, there is pretty much nothing left from the original Rikai-chan, is it? The save feature works perfectly, for the sound as well and there are no naggy "/" slashes any longer in the meaning field. I was just wondering how to get the audio for the other, older, cards now already added in Anki, hm.Btw, is there a way possibly using this mod offline, without Internet connection, for saving stuff in Sanseido-Mod including the audio? That'd require a bigger database, I suppose, collecting all the definitions and audio files, right? Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - duelarm - 2011-06-06 Figured out my problem, didn't have the media in a same named media folder is all. putting it in the [sound:$a] in the rikai chan options also works by the way( may not be necessary though) Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - cb4960 - 2011-06-06 Tori-kun Wrote:Thought about giving this mod an own name? Tori-kun Wrote:Btw, is there a way possibly using this mod offline, without Internet connection, for saving stuff in Sanseido-Mod including the audio? That'd require a bigger database, I suppose, collecting all the definitions and audio files, right?I'm not sure if Sanseido would appreciate it if I created an offline version of their dictionary. Though, offline audio is probably do-able (see above link). Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - duelarm - 2011-06-08 I don't know if this is a common issue or not but, after saving the word and hearing the word 極薄, rikaikun will only save play that file, regardless of the word i select. I tried uninstalling rikaikun, but i seems to not change anything. Maybe its a problem on the online dictionary's side? Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - Seizar - 2011-06-08 Just a quick suggestion: I think it would be better to leave the $a field blank when saving to file and the selected word doesn't have audio available. Anyway, awesome work. I'm sure I'm not the only one who often dreamt of having a tool with these features. I'm pinching myself right now, just to be sure. Anybody that want's it the old way can just use "%r - %d.txt". Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - Sebastian - 2011-06-08 I didn't know that Wrightak's mod had been merged with this mod, or that cb4960 had added a 国語辞典 option. As soon as I realized that, I tested this version and it's wonderful. You've made a great work, cb4960 and Wrightak, thanks a lot! If a bit of feedback is appreciated, in "国語 mode" this extension looks up the selected word again if I change the location of the pop-up by pressing "a". It also would be even nicer if you hadn't to reselect text when switching the "国語 mode" on and off. I agree that this version deserves its own name, though given that this is basically based on Rikaichan, IMHO it would be appropriate if its name reflected that. For example, "Rikaichan plus" or something similar. I'll see what I can do. Sebastian Wrote:I agree that this version deserves its own name, though given that this is basically based on Rikaichan, IMHO it would be appropriate if its name reflected that. Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - nest0r - 2011-06-11 Stop me if you've heard this one already: Rikaisan counts (perhaps displays the count in the popup?) the number of times you've looked up a word. Once you reach a certain threshold, it gets (automatically?) added to your save/import file. Edit: And have we already mentioned a tag field, or would that be too much. Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - zigmonty - 2011-06-11 nest0r Wrote:Stop me if you've heard this one already: Rikaisan counts (perhaps displays the count in the popup?) the number of times you've looked up a word. Once you reach a certain threshold, it gets (automatically?) added to your save/import file. That feature would be killer... would let me ditch a bunch of hacked together python that does the counting for me. Basically i add words to anki based on how many times i've seen them (higher number = higher priority). Usually means i'm mostly adding a mix of 3x and 2x words with a backlog of 2x and a massive backlog of 1x. Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - cb4960 - 2011-06-12 I have just uploaded version 12.0 of the rikaichan JDIC audio plugin. Download version 12.0 via Mediafire Major Changes: ● Ability to add words directly to your Anki deck! This feature is similar to Yomichan’s add word feature, but useable from within Firefox. How to setup and use: 1) First install the Anki shared plugin I wrote called "Real-Time Import" (from Anki’s main menu select File → Download → Shared Plugin and type "Real-Time Import" into the search box). 2) Open the Rikaichan options dialog and select the Clipboard & Save tab. There are 3 things that you need to setup: Anki tags. These are the tags that you want to use for cards that will be added. You may leave this blank if you want. Field names. These are the names that correspond to certain fields in your Anki deck. Save format. This is the save format to use. Make sure that it matches the fields that you entered in the Field names box. 3) Open your Anki deck. The Real-Time Import plugin will automatically load itself. 4) Highlight a word and press the "R" key. If you setup everything correctly, you should see the total number of cards in Anki’s title bar increase by one. Example: Here are the fields in my Anki deck: ![]() Here is one way to setup Rikaichan: ![]() In the above screenshot, I am using 2 tags: "web" and "active". I am telling Rikaichan to use 3 of the fields from my Anki deck: "Expression", "Reading", and "Meaning". The Save format box shows "$d" going to the "Expression" field, "$r" going to the "Reading" field, and "$n" going to the "Meaning" field. Notes: When using the Real-Time Import plugin, if you have multiple decks opened, only the first deck that you opened will receive the cards. If you have your deck setup to disallow duplicate entries, Real-Time Import will not add a duplicate card. I’ve tested this feature on both Windows XP and Linux Mint. Linux/Mac users will need to have bash and python installed. You can change the UDP port assignment in both Rikaichan and Real-Time Import if it is already being used by some other program. It something isn't working you may be able to figure out way by opening the Anki plugin folder and editing a file called "Real-Time Import.py". Find the line "DEBUG = False" and change it to "DEBUG = True". Now restart Anki. A file called RealTimeImport.log with be placed in your plugins directory that will contain useful information about what went wrong. ● Added "Click-to-popup" mode. (Thanks nest0r and kodorakun!) To use, first enter the "Click-to-popup" mode by highlighting a word and pressing the "U" key. Now, just hold down the Ctrl key and click on a word to see its definition. Minor Changes: ● Added a tags option in the Clipboard & Save dialog. You may save the tags to file/clipboard using the "$g" token in the save format. (Thanks nest0r!) ● Sentences now delimited by the "?" and "!" characters in addition to "。" and newline characters. ● The volume preference now uses a numeric up-down widget instead of a text box. cb4960 Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - nest0r - 2011-06-12 Finally! Finally!! Bwahahaha. The world is ours! Also, it works perfectly for me. Thanks, as always. Edit: Oh right, the click to popup thing. That works great, now I can go back to using my mouse only to bring up definitions (since I have one button set up as ctrl), but, the popup doesn't disappear when I mouse-away/click elsewhere? Edit 2: It does get knocked aside when you mouseover a photo with an alt tag. And ah, I see Escape works. Perhaps that could be toggled (kind of like sticky or normal). Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - cb4960 - 2011-06-12 Thanks for confirming that the import feature works ![]() Yeah, I get what your saying about the click-to-popup feature. I mostly just tested it on the output from JNovel Formatter. But now I see that it is kinda unusable outside of this environment. Ctrl-click will follow a link and highlight a surrounding table. That and the alt tag bug you mentioned. Back to the drawing board on that feature. I wonder what a good key combination would be? BTW, to turn off click-to-popup mode, just highlight a word and press "U". Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - nest0r - 2011-06-12 Yes, it works a treat! Still thinking about stuff related to the counter ziggy and I mentioned (now that we have the automatic adding feature, which is a gamechanger!), and let's see, some other quick ideas: KWIC-style span selection for the source sentences like we have in AntConc (if you've looked at that), where you can select stuff like 1L and 2R, for the number of items to the left and right of the word? Also, something for handling multiple decks, so you can set up and activate different layouts? Lastly, I notice the Anki plugin is set up for other external programs, that's very cool. Leaves options open for other popup dictionaries and reading tools and such I imagine. & I don't know, I'm terrible at hotkey combination customization, I inevitably select some exorbitant configuration of keys out of paranoia of conflicts (like accidentally deleting my HDD). With Lingoes, my options were limited by Lingoes' built-in options and my mouse being picky about what strings I could set up per button, so I ended up just dealing with the new-tab creation for links as a side-effect, and I seem to remember the weird table thing also. Edit: And I meant that basically right now the U triggers both Click mode and Sticky mode, so that it's always Sticky and doesn't go away when you move the mouse. It's actually even stickier I think because in regular Sticky mode if you click elsewhere it'll go away, but with Click mode you have to hit Esc or disable the mode entirely. Thanks again, I was shocked when I saw you'd added this option. I've been hoping for it since I guess September 2009? http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?pid=71244#pid71244 If I had a corporeal form, I'd have cackled madly when I saw your update. Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - nest0r - 2011-06-12 What format, exactly, does a file need to be in order to work with Rikaichan, re: monolingual dictionaries? Because opening up one of Stardict's monolingual dict.dz files with 7-zip and extracting the .dict file, it doesn't seem like a savvy regex person would have a hard time turning that stuff into an edict-formatted file? It's basically just an html file. The only markup I see around the entries and definitions and such is the <br> and <font> stuff. Easily removed with the AozoraRemover tool. ;p From there couldn't one use this? http://www.guidetojapanese.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2026 Or whatever works to create an sqlite thingy. Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - Tori-kun - 2011-06-13 @cb: I somehow cannot find the option in Rikai-chan making the lookup-bar appear always at the start of Firefox. I find it annoying pressing that little button for the lookup-bar to be enabled, when I open up firefox to look up something. Any workaround?
Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - nest0r - 2011-06-13 @Tori - You can always use the keyboard shortcut to enable it. Also, only 7 downloads so far?? We need billboards! The game has changed! Rikaichan: RevTK Community Edition - jino123 - 2011-06-13 I ♡ cb4960! |
