Go to Super-sticky mode, then use Ctrl-click.

This does not work for me on Mac, though, since Ctrl-click is a system-wide Mac OS hotkey

Wow, it was on the same page! I never would've thought to check haha. Thanks jmignot, and thanks on my behalf cb4960.

It is the appearance and the lack of customization, having to resort to third-party extensions to get Firefox partially back to what it was.

It looks like a wannabe-Chrome with eye-candy everywhere.

Thanks for this very nice expansion Smile

Would just like to add a couple of epwing feature requests:

- Multiple dictionary CATALOGS support (seems like you can only access the default dictionary specified in the CATALOGS file)

- EBZ support (compressed epwing format)

Also, I can't seem to be able to use my epwing converted eijiro file properly (waeijiro 128 converted in ebstudio, loads ok in ebwin) :/ I don't understand the symptoms properly yet, but only a few words like 精神疾患, 再発防止 and 見逃す seem to be looked up consistently, while others like 撤去 will only show up sporadically, or disappear after changing dictionary.

Where to you get a proper J-J EPWING dictionary from?? I've been searching around a bit but still don't really have a grasp on which are available and where to download them. I'm basically looking for something that ends up looking similar to Sanseido mode, with longer definitions.

How fast is the lookup speed generally compared to Sanseido mode? Sanseido always takes a few seconds to load which is the main reason why I don't like using it, and the definitions are often too short for my liking. I am currently manually using http://www.weblio.jp/ and the definitions are always very exact and leave no room for unclear meanings.

But I also pretty much randomly stumbled across that, if anyone knows of a better online j-j dict please enlighten me!

@z1bbo Emailed you a link to EPWING files, and recommending http://www.kotobank.jp as an online ductionary.

Hi cb4960,

I have to give the obligatory thanks for rikaisama and the JNovelFormatter, both of which have been incredibly helpful in making strides in my studies.

I had a minor feature request which I hope wouldn't be too difficult. Is it possible to add a "remove text based on a regex" function for the Clipboard/Save feature? Since this already exists for EPWING mode, I'm hoping this would be relatively straightforward.

I'll add those 2 suggestions to the wishlist.

It is feasible to highlight a word with a different color if this word is already contained in an anki deck? I know if you try to add a word which is already in the deck, the real time import plugin will warn you. It would be useful to quickly check if a word is already in the deck, with a mouse-over action. In this way you can use Rikaichan like a sort of dynamic Lingq and Anki like a database of words.

It's largely so I can hit C to copy paste definitions in a cleaner format. Otherwise, it includes a lot of HTML stuff ( </br> tags and what-not ), and some other unwanted information (example sentences) which I would like to exclude to keep the definition copypasta clean. Perhaps a nitpicky reason but it honestly makes adding cards while reading a lot faster and less distracting for me (I prefer to add cards on the fly instead of add after reading).

Export your Anki deck as a text file and enter the path of the file into "Options > Vocab > Known Words".

Not nitpicky at all. I should probably make this behavior the default for the next version.

Thank you for your answer! I already know this, I was thinking something more "dynamic"... you add a word and it immediately appears as "known word"; but it is not important, it was only a whim Tongue

Hello. Is there any way to make the audio work on a mac? The audio imports into anki just fine, but doesn't play in firefox no matter what I try to do.

No. Mac is not a supported platform. I also have no plans to add Mac support.

Hi guys.

I'm trying to figure out how to change the the original E-J dictionary that comes pre-installed to a J-J dictionary.

It's for my Windows 8 PC.

Do I have to install EPWing?

And how do I use Sanseido mode?

Thanks.

I posted instructions on this thread some time ago [**MPlayerX version link updated**] :

jmignot Wrote:Yesterday, I could finally figure out how to get Rikaisama's JDIC audio function to work on my Mac. In case it can help other Mac users, here is the procedure.

- I first upgraded to the current (17.4) version of the plugin.
- downloaded MPlayerX.
**USE VERSION 9.6 (the current version 10.0 no longer has the same files in the application bundle) **
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mplayerx-osx/files/MPlayerX%200.9.6.zip/download
and installed it normally in the Applications folder.
- located the mplayer binary within the MPlayerX application bundle. Its path was:
/Applications/MPlayerX.app/Contents/Resources/binaries/x86_64/mplayer
- In a Terminal window, I created a symbolic link in the /usr/local/bin directory pointing on the mplayer binary file:
sudo ln -s /Applications/MPlayerX.app/Contents/Resources/binaries/x86_64/mplayer /usr/local/bin/mplayer
- After that, the "F" key triggered the audio as expected.
I have just checked with Rikaisama 20.3 which is currently installed on my Mac and it works.

Thanks!

Is there a way to have the page show up in English?
I'm having a bit of trouble navigating the site.

Google Translate does a decent job at it.

Thank you.
I had never actually used Google Translate till now.

cb4960 Wrote:Mac is not a supported platform. I also have no plans to add Mac support.
The same is also mentioned in the original post.

I think that it is a pity to keep Mac away from trying this nice extension.
I am using it all the time and it works quite well for me. Admittedly, I may not be using all bells and whistles but even so, it is very helpful. Saving to a file works, and even the audio can be activated using the rather easy tweak given in my previous post (somebody else should be credited for it but I do not remember where I found it)

Of course, true "official" Mac support of this and other great software developed by cb4960 would be highly appreciated, but I understand quite well that he may not want to spend time on it.

BTW: There are lots of unix applications made available in the MacOs environment using "MacPorts" or "Fink". Could this be achieved in the present case by starting from the linux version ?

randyrandy Wrote:Now the audio just isn't hooking up. I believe I set my fields right [sound:{{text:Audio}}.mp3] and the mp3s are saved in the correct format (ex. でんかせいひん - 電化製品.mp3). I think I am saving it in the right folder - \Anki\Rikaisama\collection.media. I have another deck which access their MP3 from this folder.

Sadly I have to go sleep now but I'm nearly finished with the setup! Thanks! Smile
I'm also having trouble getting the audio to work in anki. At the end of my real time log it says "Anki.createNote: first field in note is empty! Note added"

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance if anyone can help. The full log is below.

By the way, thanks for making this awesome software!!! You're a genuine.
