Need help starting RTK - aargh57 - 2010-04-03 Hi, I'm sure this is here somewhere but I've spent a few hours on both AJATT and here and google trying to find exactly what I should be doing to use Anki with Remembering the Kanji. I've got the cards in Anki and I can run the program. However, I don't really know what I should be doing. For example, when it puts up "six" on the screen, should I actually be drawing it on paper? Does it teach me the stroke sequence for this somewhere? Also, what's the deal with the stories. I know they're a mneumonic memory aid, but should I see these on Anki (I don't see them)? If I'm supposed to be seeing them, how do I do it? I went to the edit > edit current just to try and it didn't reflect my story on the card. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Need help starting RTK - Zarxrax - 2010-04-03 As described on the front page of this site, you need to get the book and follow along. The first several chapters of the book are available free. Need help starting RTK - aargh57 - 2010-04-03 Thanks for the help, I guess I'll have to get the book if I want to use the method. However, it's not on the front page. Need help starting RTK - SeanG021 - 2010-04-03 As Zarxrax said, the first 276 characters in the book Heisig provides for free and can be found here: http://www.nanzan-u.ac.jp/SHUBUNKEN/publications/miscPublications/pdf/RK4/RK%201_sample.pdf Hope that helps. |
