A Kanji with the Most Strokes Ever / Hardest Kanji Ever?? - kuria - 2012-07-17 I am really interested in knowing what the hardest japanese kanji is / or most strokes in a kanji is. I have heard pre-WWII kanjis were hard... or there were more kanji then foreign burrow words. The only rule I will apply to this is, [directory word or not] you must be able to write within your computer. PS: If a thread like this already exit, I couldn't find it. I found something similar... But it was for Chinese and the characters were fake. http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=7043 A Kanji with the Most Strokes Ever / Hardest Kanji Ever?? - loonytik - 2012-07-17 this one perhaps? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taito_%28kanji%29 Edit: ups didn't read the computer requirement A Kanji with the Most Strokes Ever / Hardest Kanji Ever?? - Katsuo - 2012-07-17 The hardest kanji in common use is probably 鬱 (29 strokes), which is part of the new joyo kanji set. The kanji with largest stroke count available on my computer is 䯂 (34 strokes), but structurally it's quite simple as 馬 appears three times. There are three kanji with 33 strokes, i.e. one less than the maximum, but two of them are more complex: 龗, 灩, 麤. The joyo kanji got updated after that page was made however, and now includes 鬱 (which has moved to Kanjikentei Level 2). |
